BadToTheBoneBob suggested poll questions, and offered to ride herd on it.
There will be a fresh poll question on Monday and Thursday, with Monday's results on Thursday, and Thursday's results on Monday. Might even have some charts and graphs.
The current question is Who Do You Think Should Be Obama's VP?
Stephen Dinan: McCain's Straight Talk spins wheels (Washington Times)
From signature issues such as immigration and climate change to tax cuts, the presumed Republican presidential nominee sometimes just seems lost as to his own record and his stance on hot-button social issues. After Mr. McCain said he opposed child adoptions to gay and lesbian couples, his campaign clarified that he wasn't making policy and would leave the issue to the states.
America's last taboo (books.guardian.co.uk)
Barbara Ehrenreich has been called a Marxist just for writing that the US is not a classless society. But criticism has never stopped her exposing social injustice before. Emma Brockes talks to her about her new book, Barack Obama and the great wealth divide.
Frank Lovece: It's no mystery that 'The X-Files' is back on the big screen (Newsday)
It's a mystery worthy of Fox Mulder's scrutiny: Why make a theatrical motion picture of that iconic '90s TV series "The X-Files" six years after the last original episode aired? Nobody's doing "Seinfeld: The Movie," "Friends Forever" or "Walker, Texas Ranger, Rides Again."
Martin Bandyke: Five questions for singer-songwriter Amos Lee (Detroit Free Press)
Philadelphia native Amos Lee, who just released his third album for Blue Note Records ("Last Days at the Lodge"), has been quite a busy man since he stopped teaching elementary school and started playing and singing songs professionally. "I haven't had a regular place to live since 2004," said Lee when he recently spoke to the Detroit Free Press. "I've been traveling and recording and bumming around for the last couple of years."
Charlie was first, and correct, with:

I should assure Joe S that I am not an Ohio State fan. And a discussion of Ohio politics here would take us too far afield (and probably make me sick).
mj:
Why the heck they put the R&R hall of fame in Cleveland?
Why in Cleveland (aka "The Mistake on the Lake")? The answer is extensive lobbying, and, uh, "financial incentives."
Alan J responded:

I believe that there are also 119 ridges (reeds) on a modern US quarter (C).
I don't know this for sure as my eyesight is not good enough to support an actual search such as that done by the likes of the Vicstor in the LAST ridge question - God love his diligent little heart! (You KNOW I luv ya Vic...)
PS: I was shocked to read that Professor Charlie was from Ohio - don't know why, guess I thought he was British or from another such an eloquent-sounding place. But Ohio is good - come to think about it, there are parts there that are quite beautiful.
PPS: DannyD makes me laugh - thank you DD.
PPPS: who would have guessed that Linda >^..^<
was a "Wild-child? :)
And, Joe S ("The president's budget request today demonstrates his unwillingness to come clean on the true costs of his agenda. A penny saved is not a penny earned if at the end of the day you still owe a quarter."

I had to Google it. Three sources agreed with my initial guess, C: 119. No, I'm kidding. I didn't guess the answer, I had no idea.

Hundreds of stars on Hollywood's "Walk of Fame" are to undergo a much-needed $4.2 million makeover to repair cracks and holes ahead of the 50th anniversary of the beloved tourist attraction.
They will also be joined by a newcomer -- Absolut Vodka -- which will get its own star plaque as the first corporate sponsor of the "Walk of Fame," a Hollywood business group said on Tuesday.
Some 778 of the pink terrazzo and bronze star-shaped plaques along 2 1/2 miles of sidewalk in and around Hollywood Boulevard need replacing, the group said.
Many of them -- including those for "Dynasty" star Joan Collins, Humble Pie singer Peter Frampton, actors Walter Matthau and Burt Lancaster -- have been deemed potential safety hazards to pedestrians.
Absolut Vodka was the first company to become a "Friend of the Walk of Fame." The size of the company's contribution to the restoration program was not disclosed but it will be given an honorary star in front of the Kodak Theatre, which is home to the annual Oscars ceremony.

Monty Python star John Cleese said Tuesday that having a lemur named after him was a greater honour than receiving a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II.
The 68-year-old, who declined a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) award in 1996, paid tribute to the exotic creatures as he visited a zoo in Bristol, southwest England, near where he grew up.
"I've had a species named after me. A Swiss guy discovered it. He called and asked if I will give him permission to name it after me," said Cleese, also well known for the Fawlty Towers sitcom.
"I would rather have that than a knighthood or peerage."
Over the years, TV's best-known movie review show has gone from hosts Siskel and Ebert to Ebert and Roeper to Roeper and guest critics - and now it's Lyons and Mankiewicz.
Ben Lyons, a Hollywood reporter and film critic for "E! News" and others, and Turner Classic Movies host Ben Mankiewicz will take over "At the Movies" when its new season begins in September, Disney Domestic Television said Tuesday.
Best-selling author JK Rowling revealed her mother died without knowing anything about Harry Potter.
The writer said she began working on the tales of the apprentice wizard just six months before her mother Anne died of multiple sclerosis (MS) at the age of 45.
She revealed it was a "real regret" that she never told her mother she was writing the stories, which would go on to be adored around the world.
Rowling also spoke of her pain at witnessing the gradual decline of her mother, whom she had perceived as "invulnerable", prior to her death in 1990.

Lonesome George, the long-living Galapagos Islands giant tortoise thought to be the last of his kind, might soon be a father.
The Galapagos National Park announced Monday that a female tortoise that has accompanied George since 1993 laid three intact eggs that are being cared for in an artificial incubator. The female belongs to the closest existing phenotype to that of George.
Found in 1972 on Pinta island, George is estimated to be in his 70s - middle age for a giant tortoise.
It will take another 120 days to learn if the eggs are viable.
State Police arrested a man early Tuesday whose blood alcohol level allegedly was .491, more than six times the legal limit, which they believe is the highest ever recorded in Rhode Island for someone who wasn't dead.
The man, 34, was arrested after he drove into a highway message board on Interstate 95 in Providence, Maj. Steven O'Donnell said.
After police arrived, the man had trouble getting out of the car, then grabbed it and refused to move, forcing troopers to carry him to the breakdown lane before taking him back to their barracks, O'Donnell said.
The legal limit in Rhode Island is .08. A blood alcohol of .3 is classified as "stupor," .4 is "comatose" and .5 is considered fatal, according to the health department.

It took owner Momir Bojic, 50, a year to coat his old 'Beetle' with oak wood and make it drivable. He occasionally drives his 'wooden car' from his nearby hometown of Celinac, each time turning into a moving attraction on Banja Luka's streets.

Christian Bale on Tuesday denied allegations of assault made by his mother and sister, hours after the star of "The Dark Knight" was arrested, questioned by London police and released.
The 34-year-old Bale spent four hours at a police station, but was not charged and was released on bail. British media reported that Bale's mother and sister complained he had assaulted them at the Dorchester Hotel in London on Sunday night, a day before the European premiere of "The Dark Knight."
The Sun newspaper said Sharon and Jenny Bale had made the complaint. Bale, who was born in Wales, has three older sisters: Erin, Sharon, and Louise Bale.
Bale is also the stepson of author and feminist leader Gloria Steinem. A message left at a number for Steinem was not immediately returned Tuesday.
Officials in Georgia say Kid Rock has been sentenced to a year's probation and fined $1,000 for his role in a fight at a suburban Atlanta Waffle House last fall.
The DeKalb County solicitor's office says the 37-year-old was also sentenced Monday to six hours of anger management counseling and 80 hours of community service.
The entertainer, whose real name is Robert J. Ritchie, pleaded no contest to one count of simple battery. Four counts of battery were dropped.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates wants to know why his military uses private contractors for combat and security training, and how widespread the practice is.
He's asking for answers from the Pentagon's top military officer, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen.
"In my mind, the fundamental question that remains unanswered is this: Why have we come to rely on private contractors to provide combat or combat-related security training for our forces?" Gates wrote in a memo to Mullen that was released Monday to The Associated Press by the office of Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va.
Gates' memo came after Webb raised concerns about the role of private contractors and specifically Blackwater Worldwide, which opened a new counterterrorism training center in San Diego last month over the opposition of city officials.
A business management and accounting firm sued Courtney Love for nearly $1 million on Tuesday, claiming she failed to pay them a share of profits from the sale of Nirvana's publishing catalog.
Love is the widow of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain. The five-page lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Tuesday afternoon claims she sold a portion of his share of Nirvana's publishing catalog for $19.5 million.
Los Angeles-based London & Co. alleges Love broke an oral contract to share 5 percent of any of her earnings or those from her company, The End of Music.
That company, according to the lawsuit, was created to manage Cobain's intellectual property, including his career with Nirvana.

The widow of producer Aaron Spelling paid a whopping $47 million for a two-story condo atop a Century City residential tower that's still under construction, her lawyer said.
The price paid by Candy Spelling for the 16,500-square-foot property works out to $2,848 a square foot, a record price for a Los Angeles condo unit, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.
The condo isn't the first record-breaking residence for Spelling. Her current abode, a 123-room mansion that she and her husband dubbed "The Manor," is the largest home in Los Angeles County at 56,500 square feet.
Related Cos., developer of the Century project, said Spelling's new digs will have a living room with two working fireplaces, a dining room for 25 guests, a 4,000-square-foot master bedroom suite and a conservatory with a rose garden, as well as a swimming pool and deck.

Estelle Getty, the diminutive actress who spent 40 years struggling for success before landing a role of a lifetime in 1985 as the sarcastic octogenarian Sophia on TV's "The Golden Girls," has died. She was 84.
"The Golden Girls" culminated a long struggle for success during which Getty worked low-paying office jobs to help support her family while she tried to make it as a stage actress.
Born Estelle Scher to Polish immigrants in New York, Getty fell in love with theater when she saw a vaudeville show at age 4.
She married New York businessman Arthur Gettleman (the source of her stage name) in 1947, and they had two sons, Carl and Barry. The marriage prevailed despite her long absences on the road and in "The Golden Girls."
