Visitor Flags
Thought it might be interesting to track visitors from other nations, and that brought up How Many Countries In The World?
Seems there is no one right answer. Many sources offer different answers, and depending on the source, there are 189, 191, 192, 193 or 194 independent countries in the world today.
The United Nations has 191 members (including East Timor, the newest nation) but that number does not include the Vatican, an independent nation.
The US State Department recognizes 192 independent countries around the world. but that list of countries reflects the political agenda of the United States of America. As an example, it does not include Taiwan as China claims that Taiwan is simply a province of China.
Because there have been hits from nations that aren't on the lists (e.g. Faroe Islands, American Samoa, British Indian Ocean Territory, and Gibraltar), I'm going with 204 205 206 207 208 209 (for now).
