The Wall Street Poet
Condoleezza (A Singalong Poem)
Presidential advisor Condoleezza Rice will testify before the 9/11 commission this week. How could we not celebrate this event with a poem? And how could we not base our verse on that great Nat 'King' Cole classic, "Mona Lisa," the lady with the mystic smile? Please feel free to sing along...
Condoleezza
Condoleezza, Condoleezza, Clarke has named you,
Said you missed the dangers of bin Laden's guile.
You're of course a proxy for the guy he's after,
But you'll mask your inner bile with a smile.
Do you share all of the views of your employer?
Or hide doubts about some actions you deplore?
Many schemes have been dropped in your in-box,
Some were hazy, some plain crazy.
Rest assured, come what may, this November,
You'll end up with a think tank sinecure.
(instrumental interlude)
Do you share all of the views of your employer?
Or hide doubts about some actions you deplore?
Many schemes have been dropped in your in-box,
Some were hazy, some plain crazy.
Rest assured, come what may, this November,
You'll end up with a think tank sinecure.
Condoleezza, Condoleezza....

Might be down for a while.
In short, I'm screwed - and very bummed.
