In The Chaos Household
Last Night
Still hot and dry.
Susita's convention wrapped early so we took her down to Tequila Jack's in Shoreline Village, where they claim to have over 100 brands of tequila in stock.
There was a nice breeze & we could sit outside to enjoy it.
She's so excited about the Queen Mary.
It's a wonderful champagne brunch with great food, giant ice sculptures & a harpist.
The signal that the brunch is over when the harpist starts playing Led Zeppelin.

Reunited
Creative Emmys
The Academy of TV Arts & Sciences has scrapped plans to repeat last year's division of the Creative Arts Emmys into two ceremonies.
Instead, the org will revert back to holding just one Creative Arts fete, to be held Sunday, Sept. 12, at the Shrine Auditorium. Winners in engineering and interactive categories, who traditionally held their own dinner in August, will also be included in the ceremony.
TV Academy's board decided to recombine the two Creative Arts shows after last year's split caused an uproar with members.

Sherlock Holmes Expert Mystery Death
Richard Lancelyn Green
Mystery surrounds the death of a leading Sherlock Holmes expert who was found in his bed garrotted with a shoelace and surrounded by cuddly toys.
The inquest on Friday heard that Green, ex-chairman of the Sherlock Holmes Society of London, had become paranoid in the days before his death, telling friends that his home was bugged, newspapers reported.
Coroner Paul Knapman said there was insufficient evidence to rule whether Green's death on March 27 was murder, suicide or a mistake.

Iraq Security
Don't Ask
Iraq's U.S.-led authorities are telling anyone who wants information about risks in the violence-torn country to seek it elsewhere.
"For security reasons, there are no security reports," says the weekly reports section of the Coalition Provisional Authority website (http://www.cpa-iraq.org/weeklies.html).
The website includes reports on electricity production and reconstruction projects, but not on security, the top concern of foreign investors and local businesses.

Montana Film Festival
International Wildlife Film Festival
Amateur filmmaker Dave Anderson of Dana Point, Calif., got a little uneasy when he learned his video about dolphins was a finalist in the International Wildlife Film Festival, way up in Montana.
The what? Where? Sure, he'd sent his video to some film festivals he found listed on the Internet. But a finalist? It seemed - well, too easy.
So Anderson called an editor he knew at MacGillvray Freeman Films in Laguna Beach, Calif., a major producer of Imax films. And he was told that in the world of nature films, the IWFF is a very big deal indeed.
Now in its 27th year, the non-profit IWFF is known as the Sundance of wildlife films, attracting about 10,000 people to its annual week of screenings, workshops, seminars and deliberately glitzless Montana-style networking.

Girlfriend Took Notes
Albert Einstein
The foibles of Albert Einstein were fodder for the intimate journal of his last girlfriend.
Johanna Fantova, 22 years his junior and a former curator of maps in the Firestone Library at Princeton University, had the unique honor of putting her scissors to the legendary physicist's white mane, The New York Times reported Saturday.
Her manuscript, typewritten in German, was found in Fantova's personnel file by researchers looking for biographical information to go along with a journal article about the poems Einstein wrote her.
"Comparing himself to an old car that has something wrong everywhere, Einstein complains about his bad memory and the steady parade of visitors, so many that he sometimes pretends to be sick in bed so that he will not have to pose for the obligatory photographs," the report says.
"But belying Einstein's image as an absent-minded, sockless dust ball wandering around in a world of his own, Fantova describes him as a keen and occasionally acerbic follower of current events, who lectured her to pay attention to the news."

Countersues Parents
Anna Kournikova
After her parents sued her over what they say is their share of a $5 million waterfront home, Anna Kournikova has filed a countersuit in an effort to get her parents' names off the deed.
The tennis player filed a lawsuit in Miami-Dade Circuit Court on Wednesday, about a week after Sergei and Alla Kournikova sued their daughter in the same court. The parents want money for their share of the Miami Beach home, which they claim Anna Kournikova has taken over.
All three are listed as owners of the seven-bedroom, seven-bath home, according to property records. Anna Kournikova claims in the lawsuit that she paid the entire $5 million purchase price, plus an additional $1 million for improvements.

Slain Porn Star Linked to 'Snuff' Film
Natel King
A Canadian porn actress found stabbed to death last month may have been killed while shooting a film that was to have simulated the murder of a woman during sex, prosecutors said.
DNA clues and a scrawled note referring to a "snuff" video connect photographer Anthony J. Frederick to the death of 23-year-old Natel King, whose body was found in a trash-filled ravine in March, District Attorney Bruce Castor said at a preliminary hearing Friday.
Frederick, 46, was being held for trial on first- and third-degree murder charges. His assistant, Jennifer Mitkus, 29, was held on charges of lying to authorities and hindering apprehension.
King, who was from the Toronto area, disappeared Feb. 29 after posing for Fredericks in a hard-core bondage shoot that had been arranged over the Internet, authorities said. Her body was found nearly a month later, naked and slashed and still wearing bondage devices.

'7th Heaven' Actor Arrested
Jeremy London
Jeremy London, who plays an assistant reverend on the WB's "7th Heaven," was arrested after motorists reported seeing him arguing with his girlfriend on the highway, officials said Friday.
London, 31, who was taken into custody April 6 for investigation of vandalism, marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license, faces a May 6 arraignment, prosecutor Susan Schroeder said. He was released on bail following his arrest.
Officers responding to calls from motorists on Interstate 5 determined London's license had been suspended for driving under the influence, Schroeder said. Officers allegedly found less than an ounce of marijuana in his possession. London also was suspected of vandalizing his girlfriend's phone, she added.

Scottish Teens Steal Skull
Sir George "Bloody" MacKenzie
Two Scottish teenage boys have escaped a jail sentence for breaking into the tomb of one of Scotland's most violent noblemen and taking a skull to use as a ventriloquist's dummy.
Last June, the boys broke into the mausoleum of Sir George "Bloody" MacKenzie, a senior official of Charles II who died in 1691. He earned his nickname for his zealous persecution of Presbyterians.
The court heard the crime was motivated by "immature and drunken bravado more than anything sinister". The boys were accused of stealing the unidentified skull, using it "like a glove puppet" and then throwing it away.
