George Bush is a Godly man and he will win over all the anti christians that try to slander
him or harm him in any way.
No matter what you write God is in control and Prayer works. So get on board for a righteous life.
joanie
Hi joanie -
While I understand your good book says 'judge ye not lest ye be judged,' perhaps you could enlighten me in the ways your man Chimpy is 'Godly.'
Is it the way he sends brave young soldiers to die for oil while lying to them, their parents & the rest of the nation?
Or is it the way he doesn't want us to see pictures of coffins or maimed soldiers?
Or is it the way he approved torture in Iraq - including the torture of children?
Or is it the way he doesn't attend church regularly?
Or is it the way he won't answer how many times he's been arrested?
Or is it the way he went awol?
Or is it the way he's never run a successful business?
Or is it the way he's divided the country?
Or is it easier to parrot what you're told than actually think?
Having attended a 'Christian' college (Pepperdine), I was told only baptism by total immersion counts. By their standards, my Catholic baptism didn't count since I was 'sprinkled' (I call this the christian donut theory). So, is it the way he hasn't been 'dipped'?
No thank you, I don't want to get onboard your train.
BTW, here's a website you should check out - Pray For Reason

Pentagon waste in Iraq totals BILLIONS according to the LA Times, and the biggest problem is Halliburton. Back to the real reason for the war...to steal OUR money.
Now the 9/11 Commission says it was a bad mistake that it took our air defense system 1 1/2 hours to respond to the hijackings, but nobody was to blame. They say they couldn't find Flight 11, even though flight attendent Amy Sweeney was on the cell phone with them. And Chimpy couldn't get through to the command center on his cell phone??!!?? Friends Sing Praises
Ray Charles
Friends of Ray Charles sent the late singer off on a high note Friday. B.B. King, Glen Campbell, Stevie Wonder and Wynton Marsalis performed musical tributes to Charles, who died last week at 73, during a joyous funeral service at the First African Methodist Episcopal Church.
The event was attended not only by fellow performers but by Los Angeles city luminaries including Mayor James Hahn, Police Chief William Bratton and Councilman Bernard Parks.
Charles' son, the Rev. Robert Robinson Sr., started the service with a rousing tone, clapping his hands throughout a reading from the Old Testament. Then the Rev. Jesse Jackson added a New Testament reading threaded with his own inspirational message to Charles.
Willie Nelson performed a tearful rendition of Charles' signature hit, "Georgia On My Mind," but wasn't allowed to leave the pulpit on a sad note - Charles' longtime manager, Joe Adams, teased him about always losing chess games to Charles.
Another tribute came from actor-director Clint Eastwood, who interviewed Charles for an extensive segment of the documentary "The Blues."

Breaches Irish Smoking Ban
Bono
U2 frontman Bono has apologized -- for having a cigarette.
The breach of Ireland's new smoking ban was committed last week during a night out with Californian rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The singer, real name Paul Hewson, was spotted lighting up during a late-night bash in the plush Tea Room restaurant of the Clarence Hotel, which he and fellow U2 mates own.
Ireland became the first country in the world to outlaw smoking in the workplace when it introduced the ban earlier this year. The government has hailed it as a resounding success with most people -- the odd rock star aside -- complying.

Bridges Generation Gap
Hip-Hop Convention
Bow ties and baseball jerseys converged Thursday at the National Hip-Hip Political Convention, producing a sometimes contentious discussion between staid veterans of the civil rights movement and the younger, trendier hip-hop generation.
The convention, which runs through Saturday, is an attempt to mobilize Hispanics and African-Americans, ages 18 to 35, who are bound by common styles of music, dress and speech, but are not yet a cohesive political force.
Participants acknowledged the differences between the generations, but urged unity and political activity to reach a common goal of improving the condition of a largely disenfranchised segment of society. Delegates earned their seats at the convention by registering at least 50 people to vote.

Celebrity Walk of Fame
Canada
Since its foundation in 1998 the Walk of Fame, a sort of Canadian version of the Hollywood sidewalk star shrines, has honoured some 80 home-grown personalities in show business, art and sports.
As on previous occasions, Wednesday's inductees represent both the new and the old, from a half-dozen living and still productive talents to four deceased legends whose Canadian pedigree confirms that the concept of Hollywood North is as old as Hollywood itself.
"I think it's so important that we do more of this in Canada, of celebrating talent and artists," said actor and social activist Shirley Douglas, one of this year's honourees.
When reminded that she was being honoured four years after her ex-husband Donald Sutherland, and ahead of her actor-son Kiefer Sutherland, she said she didn't care where she was positioned, she was just amazed when she got the call.
Accompanying Douglas will be filmmaker Denys Arcand, musicians Diana Krall and John Kay (of the band Steppenwolf), hockey legend Mario Lemieux and actor-director Helen Shaver.
Jim Carrey, who was inducted in absentia back in '98 - year 1 and before the Walk caught on as a high-profile media event - has agreed to come this year and accept his honour belatedly.

Won't Carry Olympic Torch
Angelina Jolie
Hollywood star Angelina Jolie will not carry the Olympic torch during one of the final stages of the relay because of a commitment to a movie, the United Nations refugee agency said Friday.
Jolie, 29, had agreed last January to run a stage of the Olympic torch relay in Athens one day before the start of the Aug. 13-29 Olympics.
Jolie, a goodwill ambassador for the UNHCR since 2001, was to have dedicated her stretch of the relay to the world's refugees.

Honored With Bust
Jack Lord
Six years after his death, "Hawaii Five-O" star Jack Lord is being honored with a bronze bust at one of his favorite walking spots.
The 40-pound sculpture, which begins about mid-chest and is supported by a rocklike pedestal, is scheduled to go on display Saturday during a ceremony at Kahala Mall in East Oahu.
Lord is revered in Hawaii and credited with being the first star to require that local actors be given roles because he thought they were needed to capture the flavor of Hawaii. His wife, Marie, still lives in the couple's Kahala residence.

Producer Says Anthem Lip-Synched
Aretha Franklin
Aretha Franklin's performance of the national anthem before the decisive Game 5 of the NBA Finals was pre-recorded and lip-synched, one of the Queen of Soul's producers said.
"We recorded vocals for Aretha Franklin last year at her house, in her vestibule," producer Brian Pastoria told the Detroit Free Press for a Friday story. "One of the things we recorded was the national anthem - the one that was played at the Palace on Tuesday night."
Detroit Pistons spokesman Matt Dobek, who initially asserted that Franklin sang live, said Thursday he was mistaken.

Movie Shows Rocker Funeral Adventure
Gram Parsons
A movie about the legendary funeral adventure of country-rock pioneer Gram Parsons opens on Friday, with financial backing from two Wall Street traders making an unusual tribute to friends killed in the World Trade center attacks.
The movie, "Grand Theft Parsons," is based on a tale of how Parsons' manager made off with his body to honor a deal: the survivor among the two would take the other's remains to be burned in Joshua Tree National Park in California.
Parsons, who worked with The Byrds, the Flying Burrito Brothers, Emmylou Harris and others, died of a drug overdose in Joshua Tree in 1973. The 26-year-old's remains were taken away from Los Angeles International airport by manager Phil Kaufman to fulfill a pact made a few months earlier.

Charges Reduced
Winona Ryder
The judge in Winona Ryder's shoplifting case reduced her felony convictions to misdemeanors Friday and allowed her to finish probation unsupervised.
After reviewing Ryder's probation report, Superior Court Judge Elden Fox warned the actress that she'll be sent to jail if she breaks the law before the end of her probation in December 2005.

Nudges Up Broadcast Indecency Fines
FCC
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission said on Friday it would raise the maximum fine for airing indecent material on broadcast television and radio 18 percent to $32,500 per incident to adjust for inflation.
Previously, fines for incidents found to violate federal indecency standards were $27,500 per incident. Federal law calls for FCC fines to be increased to account for inflation every four years.
The new fine level will go into effect a month after the information is published in the Federal Register, which is likely in the coming few days.

Blocked From St. Kitts Show
Lil' Kim
A federal judge Friday blocked rapper Lil' Kim from performing at a music festival on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts later this month.
The performer, whose real name is Kimberly Jones, is barred from leaving the United States as part of a bail agreement in a shooting case.
Judge Gerard Lynch scolded Jones - known for her revealing outfits and risque lyrics - for having agreed in May to perform at the St. Kitts Music Festival. She had surrendered her passport in April after she was charged with lying to a grand jury about a 2001 shootout between rival rap groups at a New York hip-hop radio station.

Wins Hiker Ban for English Estate
Madonna
Madonna has won the right to exclude hikers from much of her $16 million English country estate, the government said Friday.
The singer and her film director husband Guy Ritchie said unrestricted public access would destroy their right to a private family life, but planners had defined large parts of the estate as open country.
Now a government inspector has ruled in their favor and 15 out of 17 disputed areas of the estate in southwest England will close to the public.
The Ramblers' Association, a national charity representing walkers, said it accepted the decision and was pleased some land on the estate would stay open.

Painting Looted by Nazis Returned
Alfred Sisley
An Alfred Sisley painting looted from a Jewish family during the Nazi occupation of France was returned to the descendants of its original owner Friday.
The impressionist tableau, "Soleil de Printemps, Le Loing," (Spring Sun, the Loing River), was returned to Pierre de Gunzburg, whose grandfather purchased it in 1900.
In a ceremony at the Paris courthouse, judicial officials pried open a wooden box to unveil the painting's pale blue sky and delicate trees at a river's edge - the view Sisley saw from his home.

'House-Sized' Meteorite
A Meteorite reportedly the size of a house fell on the NSW south coast overnight, exploding in a bright flash, police have said.
A driver on the Hume Highway shortly after 9pm (AEST) near Menangle reported an object the size of a house falling from the sky.
The meteorite was described as glowing silver in colour and similar to an artillery shell when it exploded with a bright flash on impact.
Workers at the Sydney Airport Tower said they saw a meteorite about 9pm, police said.

Aurora, a giant Pacific octopus, sits around her eggs, the small white specks in the photo, at the Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward, Alaska, Wednesday, June, 16, 2004. The octopus began laying eggs last weekend by dribbling them down the sides of her tank. Aquarists at the center will be looking for a darkening in the eggs to indicate the development of baby octopuses. If the eggs are fertile, they could produce young in two or three months.
