PROFuseo Celebrates the Excess
From DJ Useo
Yes, I know I put out a new mashup collection just over a month ago
( www.suprmchaos.com/bcEnt-Wed-080515.index.html ). However, with my recent interruption of hosting, & some needed down time, I finished way more tracks than I needed. I mentioned that fact to my celebrated
AUDIOBOOTS
( audioboots.com/ ) partner,
Chocomang
( chocomang.org/ ), & he coined the term "Profuseo", telling me I should just release another collection. I always strive to follow advice, so I proceeded along those lines.
I went through my voluminous file of unreleased mashups, selecting the best, & most recent. This resulted in three hours & nineteen minutes of variety style tracks. Next, DJ Petrushka generously contributed her efforts & whittled the set down to a mere 2 hours, & 28 tracks. Perfect for a new 2 disc collection I dubbed with the Chocomang title "PROFuseo".
It was a bit rough watching Petrushka delete many a track I adored. In fact, she removed a few I thought to be the best. She's a proven commodity in track selection, however, so I ended up with the set most likely to draw listeners. I'd actually made a track with Katy Perry vocals, & liked it very much, but it got turned away immediately. I'll surely post that one sometime soon. What I have on the album represents what I do, very well. It goes from style to style with little regard for coherency, but keeping an ear cocked for appeal.
Over the last few weeks KOPIMI RADIO with
Mazanga Von Badman
( twitter.com/mazanga )
has been previewing several of the tracks appearing on "PROFuseo" live on radio to a LARGE audience. It was not only a thrill for me, but I gained lots of confidence regarding the tracks appeal. He even played a few of the ones that didn't make the final cut. That meant to me that the unused cuts were fine for pleasing audiences. Certainly Mazanga liked them enough to air them, & he has excellent taste in bootleg music.
Among the sources on "PROFuseo" are Hip Hop, Pop, Rock, & Techno artists, all contrasted against opposing styles to offer the best genre clash.

Not Enough Votes
Planned Parenthood
The Senate's top Republican is conceding that his party will have to await the next president before it can cut off federal funds that go to Planned Parenthood, prompting heated rebuffs from conservatives.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Turtlehead., says Republicans lack the votes to halt the payments. He also says that standing in the GOP's way is President Barack Obama, who doesn't leave office until January 2017.
"The way you make a law in this country, the Congress has to pass it, the president has to sign it," McConnell said in an interview with Kentucky TV station WYMT recorded Monday.
"The president's made it very clear he's not going to sign any bill that includes defunding of Planned Parenthood," McConnell said. "So that's another issue that awaits a new president, hopefully with a different point of view about Planned Parenthood."

Arrested In Japan
Ric O'Barry
Japanese police said Tuesday they had arrested US animal rights activist Ric O'Barry, who trained dolphins for the TV show "Flipper", near the town of Taiji as it kicked off its controversial dolphin hunt.
Bad weather pushed back the first dolphin-killing of the six-month season which opens on September 1 every year, a local fisheries association official said.
O'Barry, 75, was arrested Monday for allegedly failing to carry his passport after being stopped by police.
He will likely have to pay a fine of up to 100,000 yen ($830) and could be detained for up to 48 hours before police decide how to proceed, the spokesman said.

Film Breaks Records
Argentina
Arquimides Puccio seemed to neighbors like a pious, conservative and obsessively tidy man. Several times a day, he'd sweep the sidewalk in front of his home in an upper-class Buenos Aires neighborhood.
Cleanliness was not his only aim. Puccio was making sure that the screams of kidnap victims imprisoned in the basement of his home could not be heard in the street.
That mundane mask over horror is a key theme of "The Clan," a movie based on a true story that rattled Argentine society in the 1980s.
The well-reviewed film, directed by Argentine Pablo Trapero, has had the most successful launch of any Argentine film. It's headed for film festivals in Venice, Toronto and San Sebastian, followed by release later in Europe and possibly the United States.

Older Than Muhammed?
Quran
Researchers from the University of Oxford have said that fragments from the oldest discovered the Quran, appear to predate the founding of Islam by the prophet Muhammad, which could reshape early Islamic history, The Times of London reports.
"This gives more ground to what have been peripheral views of the Koran's genesis, like that Muhammad and his early followers used a text that was already in existence and shaped it to fit their own political and theological agenda, rather than Muhammad receiving a revelation from heaven," Keith Small, a researcher at the University of Oxford, told the Times
In July, England's Birmingham University unveiled parts of the world's oldest fragments of the Quran, with radiocarbon dating projecting the manuscript to be at least 1,370 years old.
But now, Oxford University researchers used carbon dating to find the pages were from about 1,448 to 1,371 years ago.
If Oxford's dating is correct, the "Birmingham Koran" was created between 568 AD and 645 AD, while Muhammad is believed to have lived between AD570 to AD632.

Charged With Murder
Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka
Former professional wrestling star Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka was charged Tuesday with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend more than three decades ago.
Prosecutors in Lehigh County announced the results of a grand jury investigation into the death of Nancy Argentino, 23, of New York.
Snuka, who had been at a World Wrestling Federation taping at the Allentown Fairgrounds, said he returned to the couple's Whitehall Township hotel room in May 1983 to find her gasping for air and oozing yellow fluid from her mouth and nose, The (Allentown) Morning Call reported. She was pronounced dead at a hospital the next day.
An autopsy determined she died of traumatic brain injuries and had more than two dozen cuts and bruises, and said her injuries were consistent with being hit with a stationary object. At the time, forensic pathologist Isidore Mihalakis wrote that the case should be investigated as a homicide until proven otherwise, the newspaper reported.
Snuka, now 72 and living in Waterford Township, N.J., wrote about Argentino's death in his 2012 autobiography, maintaining his innocence and saying the episode had ruined his life.

Former TV Judge Released
Joe Brown
Former television judge Joe Brown has been released from jail after serving a five-day jail sentence for contempt of court.
The Commercial Appeal reports Brown was released from the Shelby County Jail Tuesday morning. Brown turned himself in last Thursday.
Brown, a former Memphis judge, was charged with contempt after an outburst in Juvenile Court in March 2014. Magistrate Judge Harold Horne sentenced Brown to five days in jail following a verbal exchange in which Brown called the Juvenile Court a "sorry operation" and challenged Horne's authority.
In a ruling issued Aug. 14, the Tennessee Supreme Court refused to allow Brown to appeal a Court of Appeals decision that had upheld the jail sentence.

Ordered To Stand Trial In Detroit
Shepard Fairey
Graffiti artist Shepard Fairey was ordered Tuesday to stand trial on charges of illegally tagging buildings while in Detroit to complete a commissioned project.
Fairey, 45, did not testify at the preliminary examination before 36th District Court Judge Kenneth King, who acknowledged the artist's ability but chastised him all the same.
Fairey is charged with malicious destruction of property. The charges include damage to buildings and a railroad bridge.
The artist was in Detroit in May to complete a 184-foot-tall mural on a downtown building. The work was financed by businessman Dan Gilbert's Bedrock Real Estate Services, which owns the building.
A malicious destruction of property warrant was filed in June for damage to other buildings in Detroit. Fairey was arrested in July at Los Angeles International Airport and released. Later that month, he turned himself in to authorities in Detroit.

FBI Raids City Hall
Palm Springs
FBI agents and a local public corruption task force raided Palm Springs City Hall armed with search warrants on Tuesday, sending home employees and closing the offices for the day, an FBI spokeswoman said.
Laura Eimiller of the FBI's Los Angeles office said she could not disclose the nature of the searches, which were conducted with members of the so-called Inland Empire Public Corruption Task Force, because the case was under seal.
Eimiller said no suspects had been taken into custody in the desert resort community about 110 miles (177 km) east of Los Angeles and that no arrests were planned on Tuesday.
Eimiller said several items covered under the search warrants were also seized from the apartment of Mayor Steve Pougnet.
Pougnet, a 52-year-old Democrat who was first elected mayor of Palm Springs in 2007, announced in that same post that he would not seek reelection in 2015.

Poland Backtracks On Discovery
Nazi 'Gold Train'
A regional governor in Poland voiced serious doubts Monday about the alleged discovery of a Nazi gold train, days after a deputy culture minister said he was "more than 99 percent sure" one had been found.
"There is no more proof for this alleged discovery than for other claims made over the years," Tomasz Smolarz, governor of the southwestern region of Lower Silesia, told reporters.
He also said police and other security services are blocking off the presumed location of the train along a stretch of active railway tracks in a bid to prevent accidents amid an unprecedented influx of treasure hunters.
Rumours of two special Nazi trains that disappeared in the spring of 1945, towards the end of World War II, have been circulating for years, capturing the imagination of countless treasure-hunters.
The lore is fuelled by a massive network of secret underground tunnels near Walbrzych -- including around the massive Ksiaz Castle -- that Nazi Germany built and where legend has it the Third Reich stashed valuables.
