This new collection features the fine spin of each mix being a pairing of German artists. Among the tracks are such as Die Toten Hosen vs Rosenstolz, Sportfruende Stiller vs Wolfgang Ambros, & Ofra Haza vs Peter Fox. There's a few English artists snuck in there to ease the style transition, but it doesn't really need it, as all the tracks rule. Hahnstudios was skilled when he started, & has only become moreso over the years.
Because the King of Diamonds is the only king card bearing an axe (the others show swords), a common phrase for the one-eyed royals is "One-eyed Jacks, the Man with the Axe". Another common phrase is "One-eyed Jacks and Suicide King" denoting the King of Hearts bearing a sword through his head. These four cards are the only cards of differing rank and suit in a common deck that share an identifying trait. Apart from the bedside Queen (of Spades), of course. She is the only one with a symbol beside her which looks a little like an old-fashioned wooden bedpost.

I've played a wide variety of card games over the decades since my first game of Slap Jack at about age 3, but I had to look this one up. I figured the King of Clubs probably had a pitching wedge or putter, the Hearts guy would have a bouquet of roses, and the Spades guy should have a shovel. Well, I don't know what a sword has to do with Diamonds, but I guess that King uses it to fend off the thieves in his kingdom.

Cal in Vermont replied:
The King of Diamonds has an axe instead of a sword. His sword was probably in the shop on picture day.

Good grief:
Louis Giglio, an Atlanta megachurch pastor who was once supposed to give the benediction at Barack Obama's inauguration but then had to bow out after everyone found out he had many horrific things to say about gay people, sat down with another noted homophobe, Chik-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy, and Christian rapper Lecrae to have "an open and honest conversation around how racism has plagued our city for generations, and the steps we can all take to confront it head-on in our church, our neighborhoods, and our hearts."
It did not go well.
During this open and honest conversation, Giglio suggested that one way to combat people's resistance to learning about white privilege was to call it "white blessing" instead, and then proceeded to prove that he has absolutely no idea what the concept of "white privilege" even is.
Also, one racist AF tweet by the racist POS squatting in the WH is attached.

Jimmy Kimmel is returning to host the 72nd Emmy Awards, and this time he will exec produce the show on ABC.
The host of ABC's late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! returns for the third time, and it comes after last year's Emmy Awards, which were shown on Fox, did not have a host.
It is not clear whether this year's Emmys, which are set to take place on Sunday, September 20, will be live in-person or virtual, but the coronavirus pandemic already has forced organizers to make the Creative Arts Emmys a virtual event and has cancelled the annual Governors Balls.
"I don't know where we will do this or how we will do this or even why we are doing this, but we are doing it and I am hosting it," said Kimmel.
The Roots Picnic is going virtual this year with a special guest host - former first lady Michelle Obama.
This year's concert will be in partnership with Obama's nonpartisan, nonprofit organization When We All Vote.
The goal will be to reach 500,000 eligible voters through performances from a variety of hip hop, R&B, and gospel artists. Volunteers will be working to sign up unregistered voters.
There will be appearances by Kerry Washington, Tracee Ellis Ross, Tom Hanks, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Janelle Monae, Chris Paul, and more.
The 13th annual Roots Picnic will be hosted by Michelle Obama, Questlove, and Black Thought. It will now be streamed starting at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 27 on YouTube.
Actor Keanu Reeves is auctioning off a 15-minute Zoom call with himself to the highest bidder, with the funds going to the Idaho children's cancer charity Camp Rainbow Gold.
The offer comes after the coronavirus pandemic has badly stunted the nonprofit's ability to raise money. Camp Rainbow Gold's largest fundraiser, the Share Your Heart Ball, had to be canceled with just two days notice as the virus spread, the organization said.
"We quickly realized we wouldn't be the only ones moving our fundraiser to an online auction," said Camp Rainbow Gold Executive Director Elizabeth Lizberg. "We also realized after months at home, people are craving connections and experiences that are safe but fulfilling."
Reeves is known for his work in movies including the Matrix trilogy and John Wick series. According to Camp Rainbow Gold, their mission is close to the actor's heart - Reeves' own sister battled leukemia.
In the 15-minute Zoom call with the auction winner, Reeves "will share a glass of wine, tell stories, answer questions or even teach a few karate moves," according to a press release from the organization.
The iconic 30 Rock is returning to NBC for a remotely produced Upfront special event.
The hourlong commercial-free special, which will air at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, will feature the return of cast members from the original series including Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer and more. The special will be rebroadcast across USA Network, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, Syfy and CNBC as well as available to stream on Peacock at 9 p.m. Friday, July 17.
The Upfront event will feature 30 Rock characters including Liz Lemon (Fey), Jack Donaghy (Baldwin), Tracy Jordan (Morgan), Jenna Maroney (Krakowski), Kenneth Parcell (McBrayer) and others to celebrate "the stories and talent featured in NBCUniversal's 2020-21 television season," the network said.
The special will feature guest appearances from talent from across its portfolio and platform, and will highlight new and returning programming from NBC, Telemundo, USA Network, Syfy, E!, Bravo, and more.
Originally airing on NBC from October 2006-January 2013, 30 Rock won 16 Emmys including three in a row for Outstanding Comedy Series from 2007-09; seven Golden Globes; 22 guild awards among SAG, WGA, DGA and PGA; as well as Image, Peabody and AFI Awards. The series is also holds the record for most Emmy nominations in one season for any comedy series (17 in 2008) and received a total of 103 Emmy nominations over its seven-season run.
The Ford Bronco is finally making its comeback after being off the assembly line for 24 years. But in a weird twist, Ford announced that it would debut the new Bronco on July 9 - the birthday of the model's most infamous rider.
The 2021 Ford Bronco was supposed to be released in the spring, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the launch was delayed. On Saturday, however, the company announced the new release date.
That date just so happens to be the birthday of O.J. Simpson, the former football legend who sparked one of the most-watched events in TV history by leading police in a two-hour chase in, of course, the iconic white Ford Bronco.
"The idea of celebrating the rerelease of the Bronco on #OJSimpson's birthday is a slap in the face to the families and memory of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman," one person tweeted, summing up the thoughts of many.
But Ford says the timing was "purely coincidental."
The remains of what may be the oldest theater in London, dating to the start of Queen Elizabeth's reign in England, have been unearthed on land earmarked for a new housing development in the East End of the city.
The buried ruins are thought to be from the Red Lion playhouse, the first purpose-built theater in the English-speaking world, which was founded as London grew into a major Renaissance city. At that time, plays were the premiere form of entertainment, beloved of Queen Bess herself.
Researchers from Archaeology South-East, the commercial arm of the Institute of Archaeology at University College London (UCL) discovered buried timbers, artifacts and brick walls at the site in Whitechapel in London's East End last year.
Records show the Red Lion was built by "grocer and citizen" John Brayne, who went on to cofound "The Theatre" in the Shoreditch district of London's East End in 1576 - a venue that staged plays by a young William Shakespeare in the 1590s.
Shakespeare, who was born in 1564, was just a tot when the Red Lion was built in 1567.
The 30,000-year-old remains of prehistoric humans have been found buried in the hibernation nests of bears at the bottom of a painted cave complex.
Despite how it first sounds, this wasn't an unfortunate run-in with a hungry bear, but it does highlight the intense importance of death and art in the Paleolithic world. It appears, the researchers say, the bodies were buried alongside an image-making performance in which others decorated the caves with drawings in an elaborate ritual.
The skeletal remains were discovered at the Grotte de Cussac, a cave found 20 years ago in southwestern France that's lined with some 800 examples of cave art, featuring muddled and overlapping engravings of mammoths, rhinoceros, deer, bison, and other beasts of the prehistoric world.
Some 150 meters (492 feet) deep within the cave, the researchers discovered a complete male skeleton in the shallow bowl-like dips of a former bear nest, along with the bones of at least two other people sorted anatomically in other former nests. Red pigment was also found on some of the human bones and the underlying sediment. Further down the cave, bones from at least three individuals were found mixed together and put into hollows along the wall.
Reported in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the researchers say it's the first time human remains from this time and culture have been found in bear nests. However, the researchers believe it is certainly no coincidence. Study author Sébastien Villotte, an anthropologist at the University of Bordeaux, told IFLScience the presence of nests in the cave appear long before any human activities.
Diego the giant Galapagos tortoise whose tireless efforts are credited with almost single-handedly saving his once-threatened species, was put out to pasture Monday on his native island after decades of breeding in captivity, Ecuador's environment minister said.
Diego was shipped out from the Galapagos National Park's breeding program on Santa Cruz to remote and uninhabited Espanola.
Before being taken back by boat to Espanola, the 100-year-old Diego and the other tortoises had to undergo a quarantine period to avoid them carrying seeds from plants that are not native to the island.
Diego's contribution to the program on Santa Cruz Island was particularly noteworthy, with park rangers believing him responsible for being the patriarch of at least 40 percent of the 2,000-tortoise population.
Around 50 years ago, there were only two males and 12 females of Diego's species alive on Espanola, and they were too spread out to reproduce.
