That sure gives you an idea of what the fans like to hear mashed. The cool thing is all those tracks are available for hearing. Just do a search of the mixer's name & the song title. It works nearly every time. Sorry to tell you, you can't share your money with the mixers as mashups aren't copyrighted & can't be transacted that way. I know you're just aching to spend your dough. Sorry.
If you have a top 5 list of your fave mashups, send it to me here & I'll post it up!

How the People in My District Got Stupak to Change His Mind -- and Thus Saved the Health Care Bill ...a letter from Michael Moore
Well, our full court press on my congressman, Bart Stupak worked! Hundreds of my neighbors here in his Michigan district spent the weekend organizing thousands of voters to get busy and save the health care bill. We called Stupak's congressional office non-stop and we got thousands of people up here to flood his email box. And then a rare thing happened: An elected representative did what the people told him to do. It was nothing short of amazing.
Scott Burns: The Great American Bank Robbery (assetbuilder.com)
The largest bank robbery in history is in process, but no police cars have been dispatched to the scene of the crime. That's because no bank is being robbed. Instead, the banks are robbing their depositors. While all depositors are victims, some people are suffering greater losses than others. I call them "the Solvent Seniors."
Andrew Tobias: A Great Day for America (andrewtobias.com)
Minority Leader John Boehner talks of "Armageddon" if health care reform is signed into law. Even though the legislation is scored not just as "revenue neutral" but as actually reducing the deficit. (Contrast that with the trillions in war spending and tax-cuts-for-the-rich that Republicans enacted without any effort to pay for either one, and the gigantic deficits that resulted.)
BOB HERBERT: A Ruinous Meltdown (nytimes.com)
As the states face fiscal ruin, severe budget cuts across the country are undermining economic recovery.
FRANK RICH: Obama, Lehman and 'The Dragon Tattoo' (nytimes.com)
The same week that Lehman Brothers collapsed in September 2008, a Swedish crime novel titled "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" was published in America.
Ted Rall: Damn, I wish I was a Republican
"Damn! I wish I was a man," sang folksinger Cindy Lee Berryhill in the 1980s. Me, I wish I was a Republican.
"Words in Air: The Complete Correspondence between Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell" by Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell: A review by John Leonard
Helplessly lyrical till death did them part, Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell wrote so many wonderful letters and postcards to each other from 1947 through 1977 that it's amazing they ever found the time to publish their poetry.
Tim Pears's 'small acts of resistance' (guardian.co.uk)
Since leaving school to pursue writing at 16, Tim Pears has steered a quietly defiant course, standing up for provincial life in the face of metropolitan self-importance and refusing his readers easy consolations. Richard Lea meets him.
Randy Lewis: Bad Religion keeps faith with punk rock (Los Angeles Times)
A funny thing happened to punk band Bad Religion on the way to what its members fully expected to be a James Dean existence: They fully embraced the "live fast" part of that manifesto, but somehow forgot to die young.
Brian McCollum: "Bon Jovi circles back: Richie Sambora discusses songwriting, guitar-playing and longevity" (Detroit Free Press)
Few bands have managed the endurance game like Bon Jovi.

Sam Leith: Abstract and affecting, the new Mars pictures are a confrontation with the sublime (guardian.co.uk)

Tries To Save Hugo Boss Jobs In Ohio
Danny Glover
Actor and activist Danny Glover has offered hugs and moral support to Cleveland-area workers at a men's suit plant that faces a shutdown next month with the loss of 375 jobs.
Workers at the Hugo Boss plant in Brooklyn, Ohio, cheered as the star of the "Lethal Weapon" action movies toured the operation Tuesday.
Glover later held a news conference and appealed to Germany's Hugo Boss AG to reverse its shutdown decision. Glover led a boycott of Hugo Boss formal wear at the Academy Awards earlier this month.
The company says its shutdown decision stands. The company says the union representing workers rejected concessions at the plant, which it says isn't globally competitive.

Campaign Fund Raiser
Al Franken
Live from Minneapolis, it's Al Franken and "Saturday Night Live" star Seth Meyers!
Minnesota's junior Democratic senator spent much of the 2008 campaign downplaying his years on NBC's sketch comedy show. But he's embracing those roots this weekend with a fundraiser for his political action committee featuring Meyers, host of the "Weekend Update" segment and the show's head writer.
Franken was a writer and performer on the show from 1975 to 1980 and again from 1985 to 1995. He grew up in Minnesota and returned in 2005, where he went on to successfully challenge incumbent Republican Sen. Norm Coleman.
Tickets to Saturday's event at the Carlyle condominium tower are $50. Proceeds will benefit Franken's Midwest Values PAC, which is raising money to support Democratic U.S. House and Senate candidates in the November election.

Broadway Theater Renamed
Stephen Sondheim
So what did Stephen Sondheim get Monday on his 80th birthday?
A Broadway theater renamed for the composer of "Company," "Follies," "Sweeney Todd" and other memorable shows.
The Henry Miller's Theatre on West 43rd Street will now be known as the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.
The announcement was made by longtime Sondheim collaborators James Lapine and John Weidman at the conclusion of a gala performance at Studio 54 of "Sondheim on Sondheim," a celebration of the man's work in the musical theater. The Roundabout Theatre Company production, starring Barbara Cook and Vanessa Williams, officially opens April 22.

How Big A Deal?
Joe Biden
Leave it to Vice President Joe Biden to add a little, ahem, flair to the signing of a health care bill affecting millions of people.
"This is a big f------ deal," Biden told President Barack Obama after introducing him at Tuesday's ceremony at the White House.
Biden appeared to be offering that perspective to Obama privately, but his remark was captured on audio and video.
The White House response to this one? Embrace it.

Signed Copy Sold For $48,800
'Wind in the Willows'
A signed copy of the classic children's book "The Wind In The Willows" has been sold at auction in London for 32,400 pounds ($48,794) - around 10 times its estimated value.
The book contains a dedication from author Kenneth Grahame to the daughter of English author Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch, who is said to have inspired the character of Ratty.
The inscription inside reads: "To Foy Felicia Quiller Couch from her affectionate friend Kenneth Grahame, Oct. 1908."
Grahame often stayed at Sir Arthur's home, where he found the inspiration for the children's tale.

Manga Adapted For Big Screen
"Bleach"
Warner Bros., already developing an adaptation of the manga "Akira," is in the process of securing the movie rights to "Bleach."
The story centers on a 15-year-old boy who has the ability to see ghosts and meets a female Soul Reaper, a member of an order that escorts the souls of the dead. A fight with an evil spirit causes the Reaper to transfer all her power to the boy, leaving her stranded in the human world while the boy takes on her job as a fighter of evil.
The manga, written and drawn by Tite Kubo, has been published in weekly installments in Japan since 2001. Viz has collected the stories in graphic novel format, so far releasing 29 volumes.
"Bleach" has been adapted into an anime TV series that airs in Japan. An English version airs on Cartoon Network and Canada's YTV. In Japan, the title has spawned features and a musical.

No Prom
Constance McMillen
The prom's still off at a Mississippi high school that canceled it instead of letting a lesbian student bring her girlfriend, but a federal judge ruled Tuesday that the district's actions did violate the teen's constitutional rights.
U.S. District Judge Glen H. Davidson refused the American Civil Liberties Union's demand to force the Itawamba County school district to put on the April 2 prom. However, he said canceling it did violate 18-year-old Constance McMillen's rights and that he would hold a trial on the issue.
That would come too late for the prom to be salvaged at Itawamba Agricultural High School. Still, Kristy Bennett, ACLU Mississippi legal director, called the decision a victory.
The judge noted that McMillen has been openly gay since she was in the eighth grade and that she intended to communicate a message by wearing a tuxedo and escorting a same-sex date.
As for McMillen, she said she was happy about the ruling but doesn't know what to expect when she returns to school. She attended classes a day after the March 10 decision to cancel the prom. But she said the hostility and comments from other students led her to miss school. She skipped class on Tuesday to go to the doctor and the fight is taking a toll, she said.

China Thwarts Detour Around Censorship
Google
Google's attempted detour around China's Internet censorship rules was met with countermeasures Tuesday by the communist government, which blocked people on the mainland from seeing search results dealing with such forbidden topics as the pro-democracy movement.
China's maneuver, as well as its public rebuke of Google's decision to stop censoring searches for the government, rattled some of the company's investors, advertisers and users.
Last month, Google said it no longer felt comfortable complying with the country's demands that it censor Web content deemed objectionable by the communist rulers. On Monday, Google began sending Web searchers in mainland China from the China-based Google.cn to Google.com.hk, based in Hong Kong. The former British colony has an open Internet, and Google is not legally required to censor results there.
But that end-run doesn't prevent China's government from using its Internet filters - known as the Great Firewall - to block some search results and Web sites from being seen in the mainland.

Settles Defamation Suit
Oprah
Lawyers for Oprah Winfrey say the talk show host has settled a Philadelphia defamation lawsuit filed by the ex-headmistress of her girls school in South Africa.
The lawsuit by former headmistress Nomvuyo Mzamane claimed Winfrey defamed her in remarks made in the wake of a 2007 sex-abuse scandal at the school.
The headmistress said she had trouble finding a job after. A trial had been set to start next week.
A joint statement released Tuesday by lawyers for both sides says Winfrey and Mzamane met "woman to woman" and resolved their differences.

Near Deal For Reality Show
Palin
Sarah Palin is close to a deal for her travelogue reality show.
Sources say Discovery Communications has edged out rival A&E Networks in the bidding for the project, "Sarah Palin's Alaska." An agreement could be announced in the next few days.
It's still undecided which network in the Discovery suite would air "Alaska," which is being produced by Mark Burnett Productions.
In her numerous TV appearances, Palin has proven she can draw an audience. Yet her show won't come cheap. The former Alaska governor's asking price was $1.2 million per episode. A network paying anywhere close to that figure would make "Alaska" one of the most expensive nature series ever produced.

$27 Million On Ads
Meg Whitman
Republican Meg Whitman spent $27 million on her campaign for governor in the first 11 weeks of this year, according to a disclosure report she filed today. The record-shattering pace stems largely from a television ad blitz intended to portray Whitman positively in the minds of voters and tarnish her opponents.
By contrast, Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown, the leading Democrat in the governor's race, spent $142,000 since Jan. 1. Although Brown is not facing a serious primary opponent and Whitman is, that difference would not normally result in one candidate spending 190 times more than another in less than three months. In an appeal to donors on his campaign website, Brown said the "spending binge to purchase California's airwaves is shocking."
He has $14 million on hand, the result of fundraising since the beginning of last year. Whitman, the billionaire ex-chief of EBay, has poured $39 million of her own money into her campaign over the same period; and, with additional fundraising, spent a total of $46 million since joining the race in early 2009.
Whitman has spent nine times as much so far this year as Steve Poizner, the Republican state insurance commissioner running against her in the June 8 primary. He has been punished incessantly by Whitman's "Can't Trust Steve" ads on shows such as "American Idol." Poizner lagged nearly 50 points behind her in last week's Field Poll.

Filmmaker Upset
'The Hill Have Thighs'
An independent filmmaker and former lawmaker from South Carolina is suing cable TV channels Cinemax and The Movie Channel.
He claims they promoted his film "The Hill Have Thighs," then showed a soft-core pornographic film late at night by the same name.
James "Bubba" Cromer said in the suit filed on Monday in Los Angeles that he noticed earlier this month his comedy "The Hills Have Thighs" was listed on the two channels. The listings described his movie and its actors.
He says he told all his friends and colleagues to watch the movie, but it ended up being the other film, with nudity and other sexual content.

Hosts New Dating Game Show
Jerry Springer
Jerry Springer is reinventing himself again, this time as host of a dating game series.
"Baggage," debuting next month on the Game Show Network, gives three contestants the chance to win the eye of a prospective date. The hitch: Contestants have to reveal their faults and foibles.
Players will carry suitcases onstage to represent the baggage they'll confess to and defend, GSN said Tuesday. Among the planned suitors: a shoplifter, a woman who gets advice from psychics and a control freak.
After the three contestants are pared down to one, the potential date must own up to a fault of his or her own.

Going 3-D To Attract Youth
CatholicTV
Avatars and Mad Hatters are already performing before American audiences in 3-D, and Shrek is coming soon. Now, a national Catholic television network is throwing priests into the mix.
CatholicTV debuted 3-D programs Tuesday in an effort to reach younger people and to make the faith message more vivid. The network posted several 3-D shows on the Internet, released its monthly magazine in 3-D - complete with glasses - and said it will eventually broadcast some programs in 3-D.
Stephen Prothero, a religion professor at Boston University, applauded CatholicTV for taking a risk with technology to attract a broader, younger audience. Evangelical Christians are typically far more adept at that outreach, he said.
But if the 3-D shows aren't compelling, he said, it could backfire by reinforcing the notion that the Catholic Church is out of touch.

Abu Dhabi Branch
Louvre
Abu Dhabi's Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) said on Tuesday it has launched the main tender competition for building a branch of the Louvre museum on its flagship development Saadiyat Island.
"The main contract works, the dome, mechanical, electrical, is tendered today," Felix Reinberg, director of projects delivery at TDIC's museum division, told reporters on the sidelines of a tour of the island.
Located off the coast of Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Island -- which means "the island of happiness" -- is a $27 billion art and culture project that is planned to house spin-offs of the Louvre museum in Paris and New York's Guggenheim.
TDIC commissioned French architect Jean Nouvel to design the island's Louvre building, which will be shaped like a floating dome.

Polaroid Film
A group of engineers and enthusiasts who leased an old Polaroid film factory in the Netherlands announced Monday that they had successfully reinvented instant film and will start selling packs this week.
The news gives new life to some old Polaroid cameras. The company, called The Impossible Project, will sell film for SX-70 cameras made in the '70s as well as more recent cameras that take 600-series film.
Each film pack will cost $21 and produce eight black-and-white images. The company plans to introduce color film this summer, and expects to make 1 million packs in the first year. The film will be sold online initially, but the company expects to make it available in some stores as well.
SX-70 film was prized by artists because it had a soft image-carrying layer that could be squeezed around while developing, distorting the image in entertaining ways. In addition, the cameras are icons of design: Tent-like when opened, they fold into a flat package.

Midge Costanza
Margaret "Midge" Costanza, an aide to then-President Jimmy Carter, a veteran political activist and women's rights champion, died Tuesday. She was 77.
The San Diego County district attorney's office said she died after a battle with cancer. She joined the office as a public affairs officer in 2005.
Costanza was elected to the city council in Rochester, N.Y., in 1973 and met Carter the following year when he campaigned for her in an unsuccessful bid for Congress.
She was co-chair of Carter's presidential campaign in New York and seconded his nomination at the Democratic National Convention. In the White House, she was assistant to the president, the first woman to hold that office.
Costanza remained active in Democratic politics after moving to San Diego in 1990.
She also worked for women's equality, the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment, women's reproductive rights and the appointment of more women to political offices.
