You have just hit the mashup jackpot! SUMMER BOOTY 2010 is a new 3-disc collection of all-new mashups from 32 excellent mashup producers. I personally had the thrill of arranging & producing this fantastic new collection. Can you imagine the fun I had as each new track arrived? It was so worth the investment of time & energy. I also had the joy of talking with one fine batch of human beings.
The Summer Booty mashup albums started in 2007 when I realized that many of my all-time fave songs had a discernable 'eternal summer' feeling to them. I know it's an old song, but have you ever heard the Zombies 'Time Of The Season'? When I hear that Zombies song I feel like I'm driving a convertible on a sunny beach. Hear it for youself & see what I mean. Secondly, I noticed I knew enough other mashup mixers that I reckoned we could easily get enough tracks to make the collection viable. Sure enough, SUMMER BOOTY 2007 literally shook with the summer vibe.SUMMER BOOTY 2008 & 2009 followed to even more warm reception.
When it came to SUMMER BOOTY 2010 I was more hepped than ever before. With the current pals I have & other bootleg connections, I was sure this would be the best collection yet. Still, people have their own lives & are not always available to participate in a project like this. Knowing that, I invited 56(!) different bootleggers in the hope that at least half would be able to get this comp to a generous 2 discs. Imagine my delight when so many excellent tracks came in that the project swelled to 3 discs!
The album starts with one of the best longer mixes I've heard in years. Hahnstudios' 'World Cup Mix 2010' is 20 minutes of the most exciting,sport-oriented, summery mixing you'll hear for quite a while. There's an incredible 10-minute version with video
here - ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2jJ57MRCxI )
Then, you run through an astonishingly fine collection of mashups by the likes of DJ Moule, Solcofn, A Plus D, Pomatic & so many more top mixers your head wll explode.
More videos have appeared as well. The Reborn Identity whipped up a great video version of his Michael Jackson/Goldfrappe track

The provinces and territories of Canada are sub-national divisions within the geographical areas of Canada under the jurisdiction of the Canadian Constitution. In the 1867 Canadian Confederation, three provinces of British North America-New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and the Province of Canada (which upon Confederation was divided into Ontario and Quebec)-were united to form a federated colony, becoming a sovereign nation in the next century. Over its history, Canada's international borders have changed several times, and the country has grown from the original four provinces to the current ten provinces and three territories. Together, the provinces and territories make up the world's second-largest country by area.
Provinces:
Alberta
British Columbia
Manitoba
New Brunswick
Newfoundland and Labrador
Nova Scotia
Ontario
Prince Edward Island
Québec
Saskatchewan
Mark. was first, and correct, with:
Ten provinces and three territories.

The Google claims the answer is 10 provinces and 3 territories. I wonder why the Mango Moron didn't demand the Queen sell Canada to him, as he demanded Greenland from Denmark?
Alan J answered:
Thirteen.

I'm going with 10 provinces and 3 territories. I had a long discussion with a Canadian woman on this very topic, in a bar in Jangsungpo, Republic of Korea, and she was wrong…I just didn't have the Internet to prove it.
Our county isn't under Shelter in Place rules, but we're practicing it anyway. We went to Costco and our local gourmet grocery yesterday, and were shocked at the empty shelves…paper products, diapers, baby wipes, hand sanitizer, meat, chicken, frozen meat & chicken, bacon, eggs…it was sobering. Just this morning, right before our yoga class, the club shut down - they allowed any classes already started to finish, but that's it. All our regularly-scheduled activities, from Master Gardener training to dog training, are suspended, for at least 3 weeks.
We've decided to treat this as though we're asymptomatic carriers, keeping ourselves and our germs away from sensitive groups (like us; we're in that age group). Coming from a perspective of trying to avoid spreading it, as opposed to trying to avoid it, I have more power and purpose in staying home and binge-watdhing "Outlander,"

Cartoon Commentary
These "yellow haired monkeys in business suits and red ties" cartoon needs a larger, fourth figure, a big fat orange gorilla in the background lying non-stop to overshadow the monkeys.
• Leopold Stokowski, conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra, was so distressed by the lack of manners displayed by audiences that he decided to do something about it. At a concert, he had many musicians arrive late and noisily make their way to their seats. He also had some musicians talk noisily throughout the concert. Finally, he had some of the musicians leave the concert in a hurry a few minutes before the performance was finished. The audience laughed at the actions of the musicians, but the audience continued to act the same way it had been acting.
• Celebrities are adored everywhere, but are they adored for their talents or for the hype surrounding them? Enrico Caruso - a gifted tenor - once decided to find out. During a performance of Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, he stood off stage and sang Beppe's Act II serenade. Had he been onstage, he would have caused a sensation, but after he had sung out of the sight of the audience (without his presence having been announced), no one applauded his singing.
• Sir Rudolf Bing enjoyed telling the story of an incompetent tenor from Chemnitz who went to Bremen for an audition. Although the tenor was terrible, many people in the audience applauded and shouted such encouragement as "Wonderful! Wonderful! Stay here! Stay here!" Why? Because many of the members of the audience were from Chemnitz.
• Hans von Bülow once played piano in front of a very appreciative audience, and even after he had played several encores, the audience showed no signs of going home. Therefore, Von Bülow threatened, "If you don't stop this applause, I will play all of Bach's 48 preludes and fugues, from beginning to end!" The threat worked, and the audience went home.
• Audiences tend to like happy endings. Gioacchino Rossini wrote the opera Otello, based of course on William Shakespeare's Othello, but the audience hated the ending, and kept trying to warn Desdemona that Othello was going to murder her. Eventually, Rossini was forced to change the ending to a happy one where Othello and Desdemona reconcile.
• In 1949, before Victoria de los Angeles had become a famous soprano, she traveled to Oslo for two concerts. At the first concert, barely 30 people attended. However, news of good singers travels fast. At the second concert only two days later, over 1,000 people tried to attend the concert but couldn't because the concert hall was full.
Auditions
• James Morris' voice teacher, Nicola Moscona, helped him greatly during his audition with the Metropolitan Opera. On the morning of the audition, Mr. Morris was understandably nervous, and he vomited. He telephoned Mr. Moscona, who took him - and a bag - to the Met. During the audition, Mr. Morris sang one aria, but when he was asked to sing another, his mind went blank. Fortunately, Mr. Moscona hissed at him, "Simone, stupido, Simone." Mr. Morris sang the Simone Boccanegra bass aria and the Met offered him a contract.
• Early in her career, Moravian soprano Maria Jeritza auditioned for the director of the Vienna Volksoper, Rainer Simons. Halfway through her first song, Micaeli's aria from Carmen, he shouted, "Stop! That's enough!" Ms. Jeritza complained that he hadn't allowed her to finish even one song, but he explained, "I didn't need any more - I'm engaging you."
Autographs
• The great Norwegian soprano Kirsten Flagstad used to enjoy giving autographs to fans who wrote to her for them, but she was surprised when several fans complained that the autographs weren't genuine, but were instead written by her secretary. After investigating, she discovered what the problem was. Not only did Ms. Flagstad write the autograph, but she also wrote the names and addresses on the envelopes she used to send her autograph to her fans. Fans compared the writing, noticed that it was done by the same hand, and incorrectly concluded that a secretary had written the autographs.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are donating $1 million to Feeding America and Food Banks Canada amid the spreading coronavirus, Lively said on Instagram on Monday.
"Covid-19 has brutally impacted older adults and low income families," she wrote. "If you can give, these orgs need our help."
At the end of her post, Lively made a quick joke about her husband - something that both often do with one another on social media.
Feeding America is a network of food banks that fights to end world hunger globally. Food Banks Canada also fights to prevent hunger.
After announcing that he (along with the rest of his late-night cohorts) would be going audience-free starting on Monday, Stephen Colbert (again, along with the rest) instead just bowed to scientific consensus and common sense and posted up a slate of reruns for the foreseeable future. Monday's Late Show was, indeed, a rebroadcast of the Jim Carrey episode from February, although Colbert wasn't taking all this coronavirus furlough business lying down. Instead, he opened Monday's show sitting down, hunkered behind a wall of bubbles in his home bathtub, where the host did his usual monologue courtesy of a rinky-dink home camera. The episode's "guests": "Mr. Bubble, followed by a musical performance from the legendary duo Head & Shoulders."
Wearing what he termed his "bathing suit," Colbert first praised everyone who, like him, was at home, enjoying the comedy stylings of one Stephen Colbert. Delivering a sudsier-than-normal takedown of the ongoing Trump administration shitshow, Colbert couldn't help but point out that the administration's coronavirus task force consists of 21 people, which isn't a good look. Nor is the fact that, when the president addressed the White House press corps yesterday, there were more than 10 people sharing a stage with a guy who's been linked to numerous infected Mar-a-Lago guests, Republican legislators, and foreign dignitaries.
Before throwing to a pre-taped clip of Late Show field producer Jake Punkett taking his worried-and-decidedly-awesome mom Bootsie for a checkup and coronavirus tutorial, Colbert continued to praise his viewers for being smarter than their president. Noting that all these years of sedentary, couch-potato TV watching has prepped Americans for an extended period of sequestration (and TV watching), Colbert urged everyone out there to-if not sit in a bubbly bathtub all day-safely and wisely catch up on their binge-watching. He hears that that Love Is Blind is a good place to start, probably since virtual dating is the only option people have at this point.
There's no better remedy for the coronavirus blues than standing shoulder-to-shoulder hundreds of people, right? Walt Disney's grand-niece took exception to a pair of photos posted Sunday on Twitter that showed crowds watching fireworks displays at the parks her great-uncle founded.
"Are you f*cking kidding me?" Abigail Disney tweeted in response:
Disney World in Orlando is closed as of Monday, but it and the company's other Orlando parks remained open over the weekend, despite its Anaheim sites shutting down a few days earlier.
Abigail Disney has a history of disagreeing loudly and publicly with her grand-uncle's company. Last year, she labeled Bob Iger's compensation "insane" while addressing pay disparities for its employees.
She also has been an activist on that issue. Back in 2017, Disney wrote an op-ed for USA Today after Congress passed a sweeping tax overhaul, calling it a "huge handout." In a video posted on NowThis News, she said: "This bill will give me this tax cut while also killing health insurance for over 13 million people. It will let me pass over $20 million to my children, tax-free. And all my friends with private jets? They get a tax cut too."
Filming on James Cameron's long-in-the-works Avatar sequels has been suspended in New Zealand due to coronavirus.
Producer Jon Landau told the New Zealand Herald, "We've delayed it. We had plans to come down Friday night with a group of people and start back up and we made the decision to hold off and continue working here [Los Angeles], and come down there a little bit later than we'd planned."
"If I told you we are going to know something in two weeks I'd be lying. I might not be wrong - even a broken clock is right twice a day. But I would be lying because I don't know…We're in the midst of a global crisis and this is not about the film industry. I think everybody needs to do now whatever we can do, as we say here, to flatten the [coronavirus] curve."
Weta will continue to work on the visual effects.
Cameron and Landau's production company Lightstorm Entertainment have been working on four mega-budget Avatar sequels, with both Avatar 2 and 3 originally due to finish filming this spring.
Alphabet Inc's YouTube, Facebook Inc (FB.O) and Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) warned on Monday that more videos and other content could be erroneously removed for policy violations, as the companies empty offices and rely on automated takedown software during the coronavirus pandemic.
In a blog post, Google said that to reduce the need for people to come into offices, YouTube and other business divisions are temporarily relying more on artificial intelligence and automated tools to find problematic content.
Such software is not always as accurate as humans, which leads to errors, it added, however. And "turnaround times for appeals against these decisions may be slower," it said.
Facebook followed suit, saying it would work with contract vendors this week to send home all content reviewers home indefinitely, with pay.
The social media company drew public criticism last week for asking policy enforcers to continue coming to work, as it lacks secure technology to conduct moderation remotely.
U.S. movie theaters have closed nationwide due to the coronavirus pandemic, turning dark nearly all of the country's 40,000-plus screens in an unprecedented shutdown.
The largest chains had tried to remain open even as Hollywood postponed its upcoming release plans and guidelines for social distancing steadily diminished the recommended size of crowds. But after President Donald Trump on Monday urged against gatherings of more than 10 people, AMC Theaters, the nation's largest chain, said Tuesday its theaters would close altogether.
AMC said the latest guidelines made movie theater operations "essentially impossible." It said it would close all locations in the U.S. for at least six to 12 weeks. Regal, the second largest chain, said Monday that its theaters would close until further notice.
Cinemark, the nation's third-largest chain, also announced its theaters would shutter Wednesday. Chains including the Alamo Drafthouse, Landmark Theatres, Showcase Cinemas and Bow Tie Cinemas have closed.
Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at the centre of the Milky Way, isn't exactly rowdy. It's not classified as an active galactic nucleus - one of those galactic cores that glow exceedingly brightly as they feast on copious amounts of material from the surrounding space.
However, the brightness of our galaxy's centre does fluctuate a little across the electromagnetic spectrum on a daily basis. Astronomers have now confirmed that, over the last few years, Sgr A*'s most energetic X-ray flares have been increasing.
The paper has been accepted in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics, and is already available on arXiv while it undergoes the peer review process. The results support the conclusions of earlier studies that have found our galactic centre is indeed getting restless.
Specifically, a team of French and Belgian researchers led by astrophysicist Enmanuelle Mossoux of the University of Liège in Belgium continued their work from a 2017 paper that found the rate of bright flares had increased threefold from 31 August 2014.
An unusually large structure from the last ice age built from the bones of dozens of woolly mammoths has been uncovered in Russia. Dating back some 25,000 years, it's the oldest known structure of its kind-but its purpose isn't entirely clear.
Circular structures made from mammoth bones are surprisingly common in the archaeological record, dating to around 22,000 years ago and appearing across much of ice age Eastern Europe. Scientists working at the Kostenki 11 site, located next to the Don River near the Russian city of Voronezh, have found the largest one yet: a 12.5-meter-wide structure (41-foot) made from hundreds of woolly mammoth bones. The dwelling was radiocarbon dated to 25,000 years old, making it the oldest known mammoth bone structure in the world. Details of this remarkable discovery were published today in Antiquity.
These structures are typically surrounded by a series of large pits, the purpose of which isn't known. It's possible the pits were a place to store food or bones used for burning. They could've also been a place to dump waste or quarries that formed during construction. As to the overall purpose of the mammoth-bone structures themselves, that's also unclear.
"Other than being explained as 'dwellings,' sites of this type have previously been interpreted as having potential ritual significance," Alexander Pryor, the first author of the new study and a researcher from the University of Exeter, said in an email to Gizmodo. "However, exactly what this ritual significance might have been is difficult to say from archaeology alone."
