Urges AIDS Action
Charlize Theron
Film star Charlize Theron says the world's business and political leaders need to do more in the fight to eradicate AIDS.
She accepted an award Tuesday for her humanitarian work at the opening ceremony of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Theron, a U.N. Messenger of Peace and founder of an African outreach foundation, says she's impressed by the "brain trust" at the Forum. She says "I feel like I'm getting smarter by osmosis."
But Theron emphasized the devastating effect that AIDS has had on her native South Africa and the entire African continent. "The fight is far from over," she warned.

Retires 2008 Campaign Debt
Hillary
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has paid off the outstanding debt from her 2008 presidential campaign.
Campaign finance reports filed Tuesday show Clinton's campaign made payments of $73,000 on Dec. 31 to a consulting firm run by former adviser and pollster Mark Penn. That accounted for the last part of the debt going back to her primary campaign against Barack Obama.
Clinton had owed vendors about $12 million at the end of June 2008.
As a Cabinet member, Clinton faced fundraising restrictions to retire her debt but someone could do it on her behalf.
Former President Bill Clinton sent a fundraising email to his wife's supporters in late November, asking for their help in retiring the debt. The campaign raised about $158,000 in the last three months of 2012.

James Earl Jones Voices Again
CNN
James Earl Jones is back to intoning "This is CNN" for the cable news channel after a long absence.
The Oscar-nominee and voice of Darth Vader was a mainstay of the network for years, but his voice hasn't been used between commercial interruptions for awhile. It will once again be a staple of CNN thanks to Jeff Zucker.
Brian Stelter reported in the New York Times on Tuesday that the new CNN Worldwide chief told the marketing department that it was time to use Jones' baritone as a signpost again. A spokeswoman for the network confirmed that Jones' voice had been relicensed to TheWrap.
Zucker's first official day at work was Monday, which happened to coincide with the presidential inauguration and once again featured Jones' tagline.

Governor's Ball Menu
Oscars
Hollywood's elite will chow down on vegan pizza and kale salad in addition to the traditional smoked salmon Oscars at the annual Governor's Ball after next month's Academy Awards ceremony, celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck announced on Tuesday.
Unveiling his menu for the year's biggest movie party, Puck said chicken pot pie with shaved black truffles, mini Kobe burgers, Japanese baby peach salad, steamed red snapper with Thai spice, Tuna Nicoise and his signature gold-dusted mini-chocolate Oscars also would be served.
Puck's menu could be the first chance for many of the attendees to eat since breakfast, as nominees and presenters stave off food in order to squeeze in to fitted gowns and tuxedos for the televised red carpet arrivals and ceremony.
"Nobody eats lunch that day, so by nine o'clock, anybody who would be on a diet is no longer on that diet," Puck said.
Puck, who this year is marking his 19th year catering the ball, and chef Matt Bencivenga will serve over 50 dishes from hors d' oeuvres and entrees that will be served on small plates throughout the evening.

The "Hips Don't Lie" singer and her boyfriend, the Spanish soccer player Gerard Pique, named the six-pound, six-ounce (three kilograms) boy Milan.

The couple last week asked fans to donate gifts such as mosquito nets and vaccines to help needy children in an online baby shower. Shakira is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

"Don't Trust the Palin" Pulled
ABC
ABC has pulled the comedy "Don't Trust the Palin in Apt. 23" from its Tuesday night schedule, an individual with knowledge of the move told TheWrap on Tuesday.
It is not yet known when the remaining eight episodes of the comedy will run. The two-hour series premiere of "The Taste" will air in its 9:30 p.m. timeslot this Tuesday.
As previously scheduled, the "Dancing With the Stars" will fill the Tuesday 9-10 p.m. slot - which up till now had been occupied by "Happy Endings" and "Apt. 23" - starting March 26.
Last week, the network pulled both "Happy Endings" and "Apt. 23" - which stars Krysten Ritter and James Van Der Beek - from the Sundays at 10 p.m. time slot, where it had been filling in for the yanked freshman drama "666 Park Avenue." The comedies were intended to fill the slot throughout the month, but were pulled after both shows fizzled in the ratings, with "Don't Trust the Palin" hitting a series low in the ratings with its January 13 episode, posting a 0.8 rating/2 share in the 18-49 demographic most preferred by advertisers.

Shirt Upsets Travelers
'Inigo Montoya'
Wynand Mullins of New Zealand told Stuff Magazine that he was asked to remove his T-shirt because other airline passengers found it intimidating.
And, yes, we suppose if one weren't familiar with "The Princess Bride," seeing a shirt that reads, "Hello! My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die," might be a little alarming, especially on board a plane. But in Mullins's defense: Who the heck hasn't seen "The Princess Bride"?
For the two or three of you who haven't, the movie features a character named Inigo Montoya, played by Mandy Patinkin of "Homeland." After seeing his father killed by an evil, six-fingered man, Montoya vows that when he crosses paths with the fiend, he will say, well, exactly what was printed on Mullins's T-shirt. (Spoiler alert: At the end of the movie, Montoya does find the fiend, and he says his line over and over. It's awesome.)
Mullins explained to Stuff that a flight attendant had approached him before takeoff and asked that he put on a different shirt due to some concerned passengers.
The flight attended apparently told Mullins she would attempt to find him another shirt, but never did, so the T-shirt stayed on. "I wouldn't be surprised if they had someone watching me the whole time," Mullins said. "The whole experience was a bit over the top, but also a bit comical."

Swatting Target
Chris Brown
Police have responded to Chris Brown's home after they received a call about a domestic violence situation that turned out to be false.
The Los Angeles Times reports police were contacted shortly before 5 p.m. Monday about a domestic violence incident. When police arrived, members of Brown's staff were at the home, but the singer wasn't.
Police searched the home and didn't find any problems.
It's the latest so-called "swatting" prank targeting celebrities. The practice is intended to get multiple officers, including specialized SWAT teams sent to a home.

Remains Returned To Serbia
Peter II Karadjordjevic
The remains of Yugoslavia's last king - Peter II Karadjordjevic, who died in the U.S. in 1970 - were flown back to Serbia in a solemn ceremony on Tuesday, despite protests by some Serb royalists in America.
The former king fled the Nazi occupation of Yugoslavia at the start of World War II and never returned because Communists took over at the end of the war. He died in exile at the age of 47 and was buried at a Serbian Orthodox Church monastery in Libertyville, Illinois - the only European monarch laid to rest on U.S. soil.
His son - Crown Prince Alexander, who lives in Belgrade - wanted the remains returned to Serbia. That reportedly upset some Serbian-American groups, who claimed the remains were being secretly exhumed and that before the king had died he asked to remain buried in the United States.
However, Alexander said in a speech at the Royal Palace in Belgrade on Tuesday that his father wanted to return to his homeland and his people, "whom he loved more than anything else."

Goat Cheese Fire Closes Norwegian Roadway
Brunost
This is the cheesiest story you'll read all day. And we mean that literally. That's because 27 metric tons of flaming goat cheese burned inside a Norwegian road tunnel, closing nearly two miles of the road for six days.
The Brunost, a Norwegian delicacy, was being shipped in a truck that caught fire. No one was hurt in the incident, which firefighters were finally able to put out on Monday.
As the website Nordic Nibbler explains, Brunost is technically not a traditional cheese. It is made from the whey of goat's milk and can contain up to 30 percent fat. It is described as having a "slightly salty and surprisingly sweet flavour with a hint of goat about it."
The BBC reported that the truck's driver noticed the cheese had caught fire and was forced to abandon the truck about 300 feet from the tunnel's exit. Toxic fumes emanating from the smoldering, brown cheese kept firefighters at bay for several days before they could attempt to extinguish the flames.
