What Disney Princesses Look Like In Real Life (YouTube)
"The BuzzFeed Video above presents viewers with the ladies who supply the voices of popular Disney princesses. In some cases, the singing and speaking voices of the character are two different people. Yet all are beautiful women in their own way - some even resemble their characters - and well suited to be the voice of a princess." - Neatorama
Even though he was a lifelong Californian, this actor, born Louis Burton Lindley, Jr., is remembered for his distinctive Oklahoma-Texas drawl. What is his stage name?
Louis Burton Lindley, Jr. (June 29, 1919 - December 8, 1983), known by the stage name Slim Pickens, was an American rodeo performer and film and television actor who epitomized the profane, tough, sardonic cowboy, but who is best remembered for his comic roles, notably in Dr. Strangelove and Blazing Saddles.
After twenty years on the rodeo circuit, his distinctive Oklahoma-Texas drawl (even though he was a lifelong Californian), his wide eyes and moon face and strong physical presence gained him a role in the western film, Rocky Mountain (1950) starring Errol Flynn. He appeared in many more westerns, playing both villains and comic sidekicks to the likes of Rex Allen.

Randall was first, and correct, with:
I had to look it up...
I see the IMDB has Slim Pickens with 170 film and TV credits...
What a great character actor...
If you needed a cowboy you couldn't go wrong with Slim Pickens.
Who could forget Slim Pickens as Major "King" Kong in
"Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb"
Norman Rockwell even painted him as "Buck" the stagecoach driver
in the 1966 production of "Stagecoach"
He started out his career as a rodeo rider and actually scratched out a living on the rough-and-tumble rodeo circuit.
But, since he wasn't anything outstanding, somebody once told him that he should take up another line of work
because the only thing he'd ever get out of rodeo ridin' was "slim pickin's".
Perhaps the greatest ride a cowboy could ever hope for:

Slim Pickens was bomber pilot Maj. A real cowboy was he. He even washed his hands befour he peed because he didn't know where his dick had been. Blazing Saddles. Fucking died in Molesto, the taintiest city of CA.
DJ Useo replied:
Slim Pickens! I love that name. Lol!
I'm so happy, I remembered this easily, with no pain in the the brain from the strain.
I'd just watched "BLAZING SADDLES" the movie again recently, & afterwards spent some quality time wiki-ing
the many fine cast members, & the info made a good impression on me.
Sorry I missed the trivia question yesterday. I was stuck in one fine traffic jam. Akk!
@Dale- Were you implying Wilma's Ma was a dominatrix? Lmao!

As you all know the untimely passing of Terry was unexpected, even by

The 1954 electric guitar that served as the prototype for Gibson's iconic Les Paul models is going on the auction block.
The Paul-designed guitar known as "Black Beauty" features gold-plated hardware. Paul made frequent modifications as he refined its sound over more than two decades of use.
Guernsey's is offering the guitar Feb. 19 in New York City. The auctioneer calls it the most significant electric guitar ever made. Its market value will be determined at auction.
The famous jazz, country and blues guitarist played it in concerts, recordings and on the "Les Paul and Mary Ford" television show.
Preston "Pret" Dahlgren has led what might seem like a picture-perfect Mormon life: He met his high school sweetheart in Sunday school as a teenager, completed his mission and married her. He is active in the church and the proud father of two young daughters.
Dahlgren also is attracted to men.
His story is the subject of a new TV show called "My Husband's Not Gay," which gay-rights advocacy groups are calling irresponsible and dangerous. They want the TLC cable network to pull the plug on the program before it airs Sunday.
Dahlgren said he's known he was attracted to men since he was about 12 years old, but he also always wanted the kind of family he grew up in: a father, mother and children.
The gay rights group GLAAD, however, says the show sends the wrong message and is a sad reminder of so-called gay conversion therapy, often faith-based efforts designed to change sexual orientation that can be emotionally scarring. New Jersey and California in 2013 banned therapists from practicing gay conversion therapy on children and teenagers. The American Medical Association and the American Psychological Association do not support the therapy.
USA Network's Covert Affairs is not moving forward.
After five seasons, the NBCUniversal-owned cable network has opted to cancel the spy drama starring Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Sources tell THR that the renewal came down to a business decision, with the show's live-plus-same-day ratings ultimately being the deciding factor. In its heyday, Covert Affairs - produced by NBCUni's cable-focused Universal Cable Productions -regularly averaged 5 million total viewers in live-plus-same-day returns. Its recent fifth season hit a series low of 1.1 million viewers in November, leading up to an average of about 1.5 million and not enough to justify a second run despite the network's ownership stake in the show.
Season five of the drama, created by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, ended with a cliffhanger as Perabo's Annie was pondering a marriage proposal and new gig with a CIA task force and Gorham's Auggie was planning to move away from life in the CIA.

A federal appeals court gave the green light Tuesday to a lawsuit by former NFL players against video-game maker Electronic Arts over the use of their avatars in the company's Madden NFL series.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals sided with a district court that rejected Electronic Arts' attempt to have the lawsuit thrown out. The 9th Circuit said EA was not likely to prevail on its argument that its use of the former players' likenesses was incidental and therefore protected by the First Amendment.
The players, including former Los Angeles Rams quarterback Vince Ferragamo, said the Madden NFL game had players with their exact characteristics, but EA had not obtained their permission to use the figures.
The 9th Circuit ruled against EA in 2013 in a similar lawsuit brought by former Arizona State University quarterback Sam Keller over the company's use of college athletes' likenesses without compensation.
Poland has been asked to extradite filmmaker Roman Polanski to the United States, where he is wanted on 1977 charges of sex with a minor, an official said Wednesday.
Spokesman for the prosecutor general, Mateusz Martyniuk, told The Associated Press that the request from Los Angles prosecutors was being forwarded to Krakow, where Polanski's case is handled.
In October, Krakow prosecutors refused a U.S. request to arrest Polanski, 81, but questioned him and obliged him to turn up on every summons. Polanski was in Warsaw for the opening of the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews and then travelled to Krakow, his childhood city.

Rapper Dr. Dre and record producer Jimmy Iovine are being vilified as scam artists in a lawsuit that alleges the duo duped one of their former partners in Beat Electronics before selling the trendy headphone maker to Apple for $3 billion last year.
The complaint filed Tuesday in San Mateo Superior Court accuses Dre and Iovine of double crossing Noel Lee, the founder of video and audio cable maker Monster LLC.
Lee once held a 5 percent stake in Beats as part of a partnership between the headphone maker and Monster that ended in 2012. The lawsuit alleges Dre and Iovine orchestrated a "sham" deal with smartphone maker HTC in 2011 that led to the termination of the Monster alliance.
The suit alleges the shady maneuvering prompted Lee to pare his stake in Beats to 1.25 percent before selling his remaining holdings for $5.5 million in the autumn of 2013 after being assured by Beats executives that there were no plans to sell the company for at least several years.
Beats announced its sale to Apple in May, opening the door for Dre and Iovine to become executives at the iPhone and iPad maker. Had he held on to his 1.25 percent stake, Lee would have received more than $30 million in the Apple deal. His original 5 percent stake would have been worth roughly $150 million.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said late Tuesday that the state of Palestine will join the International Criminal Court on April 1, a high-stakes move that will enable the Palestinians to pursue war-crimes charges against Israel.
The Palestinians submitted the documents ratifying the Rome Statute that established the court last Friday, the last formal step to accepting the jurisdiction of the world's permanent war crimes tribunal. The U.N. said the secretary-general would review the paperwork.
In a statement posted on the U.N.'s treaty website, the secretary-general announced his acceptance of the documents saying "the statute will enter into force for the State of Palestine on April 1, 2015" in accordance with the court's procedures. He said he was "acting in his capacity as depositary" for the documents of ratification.
Joining the ICC is part of a broader Palestinian strategy to pressure Israel into withdrawing from the territories and agreeing to Palestinian statehood. Abbas has been under heavy domestic pressure to take stronger action against Israel after a 50-day war between the Jewish state and militants in Gaza over the summer, tensions over holy sites in Jerusalem, and the failure of the last round of U.S.-led peace talks.

Monsanto said Wednesday that its earnings fell 34 percent in its first fiscal quarter as South American farmers cut back on planting corn, reducing demand for the company's biotech-enhanced seeds.
U.S. farmers harvested record crops of soybeans and corn last year, sending prices on those food staples to their lowest levels in years. That has resulted in farmers in South America and elsewhere reducing the number of acres they dedicate to corn. The company said lower corn plantings in the U.S. will likely reduce second quarter results by 5 to 10 percent compared with the prior year.
Monsanto said its business was also affected by reduced cotton planting in Australia and a shift in timing for its chemical business.
The St. Louis-based company reported a profit of $243 million, or 50 cents per share, down from $368 million, or 69 cents per share, in the prior year period. Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, came to 47 cents per share in the most recent quarter.

Even as Netflix continues to pump out more original programming, its bosses say they will continue to keep secret details on how many people are actually watching.
The ratings "arms race" on traditional television has a negative effect on creativity, said Ted Sarandos, Netflix's chief content executive. Besides, given the new ways people follow TV - on demand or on different devices - there are questions about how accurate traditional measurements are, he said.
The streaming service, with 53 million subscribers, doesn't pay for the third-party ratings service provided by the Nielsen company. The business model doesn't depend on it; Netflix doesn't run commercials so it doesn't need Nielsen's numbers to set advertising rates, Sarandos said.
That doesn't mean Netflix doesn't know how many people watch its shows. It knows exactly how many, but won't tell. Since the company generally releases a full season's worth of program episodes at the same time, people don't watch Netflix's shows the same way many people watch broadcast TV, Sarandos said. Much of the time, people will latch on to a Netflix show and not watch anything else on the service until they are done with the available episodes.
