In The Chaos Household
Last Night
Bought a regulation TV Guide, mostly because of the cover. It's using old fashioned lenticular surfaced multi-plane photography....woo hooo! Way back in the 80's my
favorite camera was my Nimslo. It has 4 lens in a row, and uses 2 frames of 35mm film for the 4 pictures. The first mass marketed 3-D camera since the Stereo Realist. Wonder where they got it developed, but talk about retro-technology. Ike
Eisenhower was a great fan of the Stereo Realist.
Hate lines and crowds, so we celebrated Mother's Day on Saturday. Went to 'Chris & Pitts' a local steakhouse.
The kid insisted on watching 'Star Wars' on the WB. It's not like there aren't 3 copies of it on vhs, and one dvd around here.
Tonight, Sunday, as is tradition, CBS starts the evening with '60 Minutes', then a fresh 'Max
Bickford' (with Eli Wallach and Peter O'Toole!), then the movie, 'Double Jeopardy'.
NBC has NBA Playoffs intruding a bit on prime time, so expect some local programming. Also scheduled is a 'special' edition of
'Weakest Link' featuring the 'stars' of 'LA Law', which is a prelude to the fresh (and oh-so creatively titled) tv-movie that follows, 'LA Law: The Movie'.
ABC's mini-series (that they insist on calling a 'mega-series') 'Dinotopia' finally airs. It is followed by the last fresh episode of 'Alias' for this season. Wrapping the night
is 'The Practice'.
The WB has the movie 'Stepmom', and follows with the last fresh episode of 'Jamie Kennedy' for the season.
Faux starts the night with a fresh hourlong episode of 'King Of The Hill' - and it's also the last fresh Hank Hill episode for this season. It's followed by fresh episodes of 'Simpsons' and
'Malcolm', and then the next-to-the-last-fresh-episode of 'X-Files'.
UPN has 2 rerun episodes of 'Enterprise' back-to-back.
MTV has scheduled 2 episodes of 'The Osbournes' from 9pm - 10pm (edt).

Critics Not Happy
Star Wars: Clones
"Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones" is under attack by a rebel group of influential critics who are panning what is expected to be one of the biggest box-office
juggernauts of all time. In a scathing New York Times review, A.O. Scott dismisses the popcorn flick as a "2-hour-12-minute action figure commercial" and sniffs, "It's not
much of a movie at all, if by movie you mean a work of visual storytelling about the dramatic actions of a group of interesting characters." Roger Ebert muses, "As someone
who admired the freshness and energy of the earlier films, I was amazed, at the end of Episode II, to realize that I had not heard one line of quotable, memorable dialogue."
(Ebert's TV colleague, Richard Roeper, is expected to give the movie a "thumbs up" review.) "Star Wars" fanatics are rattling their light sabers to protest such sacrilegious
screeds, and will be out in "Force" when the movie opens Thursday.

Sybil Fawlty
The widow of the hotel owner on whom John Cleese based the character of Basil Fawlty has hit out at the popular comedy, saying it turned her "war hero" husband into a "laughing stock".
Breaking her silence after more than 30 years, Beatrice Sinclair, 87, told newspapers: "My husband was no Basil Fawlty. He was a gentleman and a very brave man."
Cleese stayed at the Sinclair's Torquay hotel in 1970 with his fellow "Monty Python" comedians while filming in nearby Paignton.
He has always said the hotel was the inspiration for "Fawlty Towers".
Sinclair said she had decided to speak out after learning that a DVD of the comedy series was to be sold in the United States
"Our family has suffered for far too long and it is about time the record was put straight," she was quoted in the Daily Telegraph as saying.
"I regard John Cleese as a complete fool. He's held my family up to ridicule and made a lot of money doing it."
She also acknowledged that she was the driving force behind the business, calling herself "the boss".
"I have seen the series, of course. I suppose Sybil is meant to be me. Certainly I was the boss but I was never as bad as that," she said.

Mysterious Last Days?
George Harrison
It's been six months since George Harrison died in Southern California after a long battle with cancer, and there are still many mysteries about his last days.
According to sources close to Harrison, press reports that Hare Krishnas were present at his deathbed, that his ashes were spread on India's Ganges River and
that he left $30 million to the Krishnas were all false.
Questions have also been raised by those close to Harrison about the conduct of Staten Island University Hospital's Dr. Gil Lederman, who treated the ex-Beatle
last fall. Following Harrison's death, Lederman gave a number of television interviews commenting on Harrison's religious beliefs, personal values and
whether he was in pain at the end.
"George actually spoke with Dr. Lederman very little," says family friend Gavin de Becker. "But Dr. Lederman mounted a press tour exploiting George in the most
shameless way." Lederman did not return calls for comment, but a representative of the New York State Department of Health confirmed that the doctor's statements
to the press could be considered misconduct.
De Becker himself came under scrutiny when a Los Angeles district attorney accused his office of falsifying the address on Harrison's death certificate. An investigation
later determined that no impropriety had occurred.
"They still don't know where George died, and they never will," says de Becker. "Which proves that even a very famous man can lead a private life and have a peaceful, private death."

Promoting 'Clones' in Cannes
George Lucas
When the newest "Star Wars" installment opens next week at U.S. multiplexes, George Lucas will be at the Cannes Film Festival to show off his movie and its digital effects.
"Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones" will be screened out of competition at Cannes next Thursday, the same day it is released in the United States, organizers said. The movie opens in France a day later.
The Cannes Film Festival opens Wednesday and runs to May 26.
The "Star Wars" creator and his producer, Rick McCallum, will talk to reporters about digital cinema and its potential. The movie was shot entirely on Sony digital cameras and will be shown in Cannes using digital projectors rather than the standard 35 mm format.
The latest chapter of Lucas' epic brings back Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Natalie Portman as Padme Amidala. Newcomer Hayden Christensen is Anakin Skywalker — the future Darth Vader.

To Face BBC 'Inquisitor'
(And All We Get Are Screamers & Schemers)
Tony Blair
British Prime Minister Tony Blair is to face one of the BBC's toughest journalists for a series of TV interviews to be aired next week exploring the government's five years
in power, the corporation said on Saturday.
The interviews with Jeremy Paxman for the Newsnight program will be recorded in Downing Street and broadcast on three consecutive nights starting next Tuesday, the BBC said.
The BBC said Paxman, who is regarded as one of the country's most tenacious interviewers, is relishing the opportunity to grill the prime minister on his government's record.
The BBC said Paxman will concentrate on three main areas -- how he hopes to improve public services; how he sees Britain's role in the world; and the relationship between the
individual and the state under his government.

Closing After 21 Years
London 'Cats'
Blockbuster British musical "Cats" was ringing down the curtain for the last time in London on Saturday after a record breaking run of 21 years.
The final show was restricted to an invited audience but fans were being given the chance to watch it free on a giant screen in nearby Covent Garden district of
central London, a spokeswoman for the New London Theater said.
The Andrew Lloyd Webber hit, dubbed the world's most successful musical after breaking records around the world, has been seen in London by an estimated eight million
people since its first performance on May 11, 1981.
Based on poems by T.S. Eliot, "Cats" was decried as "theatrical lunacy" when the producers struggled to find backers in 1981. Today they have been repaid 2,500 times over.
