PS: @B2BB, when you drive down to visit me in your Xmas, 2012 Mini Cooper, John Cooper Works Coupe, 'British Racing Green,' (turbo-charged, with dark bronze wheels and bright yellow trim), I shan't be tooling around Jersey with you due to my bad hip - which would never settle down into that low vehicle.
I will be eating my heart out though...

And, Joe S answered:
Well, I don't know and I don't care. I think this "meteorological" Summer/Winter thing is a bunch of hooey. That's right I said it, hooey. And I mean it too. The Summer and Winter Solstices mean something and shouldn't be disregarded and cast aside. This year March was colder than December. With the climate changes who knows when the three hottest or coldest will be.
Speaking of hot, my new girlfriend may be Emily Vancamp. So far, so good. No restraining orders.
Memo to Purple Gene: Dude, I feel for ya. I really do. Thanks for "going to hell and back" to write what needed to be said. Hey, though, someone had to do it, eh? Be that as it may, you deserve a 'V' for valor. I get 'Lifetime', but no way would I ever watch that.
The thought of Lindsay Lohan as Liz is appalling... Cringe-worthy again comes to mind... But, it also brings to mind a poll. Who could possibly portray Liz the best? Take a day, or two, E! fans (I need that myself, frankly, to think it over) and send your thoughts to BCEpoll@aol.com and I'll put together a compilation...

The surviving members of Led Zeppelin will make a rare appearance together on "Late Show With David Letterman" on December 3, CBS said Friday.
Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones will drop in on the late-night show for an interview - which isn't quite the reunion that Zep fans have been patiently waiting for, but it might have to do. With the exception of a one-off tribute concert for Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun at London's O2 Arena in 2007 - which was released as the DVD "Celebration Day" in October - Jones has largely been estranged from Page and Plant since the group's 1980 breakup following drummer John Bonham's death.
The "Late Show" appearance won't be the only time that Letterman hangs out with the rock legends - the group, along with Letterman, will be lauded at the 35th Annual Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C., which will take place December 2 and air December 26 on CBS.

David Letterman's "stupid human tricks" and Top 10 lists are being vaulted into the ranks of cultural acclaim as the late-night comedian receives this year's Kennedy Center Honors with rock band Led Zeppelin and three other artists.
Stars from New York, Hollywood and the music world gathered Sunday in Washington to salute the comedian and the band, along with Dustin Hoffman, Chicago bluesman Buddy Guy and ballerina Natalia Makarova.
Meryl Streep introduced the honorees Saturday during a formal dinner at the U.S. State Department and noted that Letterman had surpassed his mentor, Johnny Carson, in sustaining the longest late-night television career for more than 30 years.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton also took special note of Letterman, saying he must be wondering what he's doing in a crowd of talented artists and musicians.
"Dave and I have a history," she said. "I have been a guest on his show several times, and if you include references to my pant suits, I'm on at least once a week."
Neil Young said Sunday that he couldn't see performing in the area devastated by Superstorm Sandy without doing something to help people who were affected by it.
Young and his longtime backing band, Crazy Horse, will hold a benefit concert for the American Red Cross' storm relief effort Thursday at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. The New Jersey coastline areas were hit hard by the storm in late October.
People in the New York area who suffered damage in the storm have been supporting him for 40 years, he said.
"I couldn't see coming back here and just playing and have it be business as usual," he said. Young is touring in the area, with concerts scheduled for Monday in Brooklyn and Tuesday in Bridgeport, Conn.
Young said he was invited to join the Dec. 12 benefit at New York's Madison Square Garden that will feature Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, the Who, Kanye West and others, but had other obligations. Besides, there's enough star power there, he said.

Hollywood producer Jeffrey "Sparky" Katzenberg received an honorary Oscar for his charitable work on Saturday at a star-studded gala that kicked off the movie awards season and bestowed film industry gold on three other industry veterans.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences annually hands out its Governors Awards to people who have made an impact on Hollywood.
This year, the honorary Oscars went to Katzenberg, stuntman Hal Needham, documentary filmmaker D.A. Pennebaker and arts advocate George Stevens Jr. They were recognized at a black-tie affair that brought out stars such as Annette Bening, Kirk Douglas and Steven Spielberg.
The Oscars, or Academy Awards, for the films of 2012 will be given out in a ceremony in Los Angeles on February 24. Nominations will be announced on January 10.
For microscopic animals living in the Gulf, even worse than the toxic oil released during the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster may be the very oil dispersants used to clean it up, a new study finds.
More than 2 million gallons (7.5 million liters) of oil dispersants called Corexit 9527A and 9500A were dumped into the Gulf of Mexico in an effort to prevent oil from reaching shore and to help it degrade more quickly.
However, when oil and Corexit are combined, the mixture becomes up to 52 times more toxic than oil alone, according to a study published online last week in the journal Environmental Pollution.
"There is a synergistic interaction between crude oil and the dispersant that makes it more toxic," said Terry Snell, a study co-author and biologist at Georgia Tech. Using dispersants breaks up the oil into small droplets and makes it less visible, but, "on the other hand, makes it more toxic to the planktonic food chain," Snell told LiveScience.
This is one of the first studies to look at the impact of the oil-dispersant mixture on plankton. A decline in populations of plankton could impact larger animals all the way up to whales, he said. In general, plankton can rebound quickly, although the toxicity to larvae in sediments is concerning, since it reduces the size of the next generation. This ocean-bottom oil slurry could have also impacted other species that spend part of their life cycles here like algae and crustaceans.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has named its newest Miss Golden Globe.
Francesca Eastwood was introduced as the 2013 honoree Thursday at Cecconi's restaurant in West Hollywood. The 19-year-old is the daughter of Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood (R-Family Values).
Miss Golden Globe is traditionally the untalented child of a celebrity who is invited to help during the ceremony. Previous honorees include Rumer Willis and Joely Fisher.
Nominations for the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards will be announced Dec. 13. The ceremony is set for Jan. 13.
Congregants of one of the nation's oldest churches have voted to auction off a 372-year-old hymn book that's expect to fetch $10 million to $20 million at auction.
Members of the Old South Church in Boston authorized the sale of one of its two copies of the Bay Psalm Book, which was published in 1640. It is among the first books ever published in North America, and only 11 copies remain.
Board of Trustees Chairman Phil Stern says the church wants to continue growing its endowment and take care of some "critical capital needs."
He says although there was loud opposition to the sale, the vote wasn't close, with 271 votes cast in favor and 34 against.

Thousands of Earth scientists are descending on San Francisco this week for the annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union, the largest geosciences meeting of the year, where new findings on topics ranging from Mars to volcanoes to global warming will be presented.
Advance press releases for the 2012 AGU meeting, held at the Moscone Center, have touted findings in numerous areas, including climate change and Martian geology, and include briefings from some big-name scientists like Mars rover principal investigator, Steve Squyres, and Jane Lubchenco, the administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Another big name that will be present at the meeting is James Cameron, who will be talking about his deep-sea dive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench , the deepest spot on Earth, last year, and what he saw while he was down there.A briefing on the latest results from the Mars Curiosity rover mission that will be conducted at the meeting has been the subject of rampant speculation in the press, and NASA has tried to manage expectations, saying that the findings aren't earth shattering .
Scientists will be presenting findings in hundreds of talks and posters throughing the duration of the meeting, which runs from Monday, Dec. 3, through Friday, Dec. 7. Press conferences from the meeting will be webcast live - you can see a full schedule and watch them here . You can also follow along with news from the meeting by checking out the hashtag #AGU12.

A secret code letter sent by French emperor Napoleon boasting that his multinational forces would blow up Moscow's Kremlin has sold at auction Sunday for €187,500 ($243,500) - 10 times its estimated presale price.
A Paris museum, the Museum of Letters and Manuscripts, was finalizing its purchase of the Oct. 20, 1812, document with elegantly calligraphic ciphers.
The sale price, which includes fees, far outstripped the pre-sale estimate of €15,000 ($19,500), according to Fontainebleau Auction House south of Paris.
Experts say the letter is unique, written in a numeric code that Napoleon often used to throw off would-be interceptors - notably when he was conveying battle plans. The letter's content also revealed the strains on Napoleon of his calamitous Russian invasion.

Norman Rockwell's World War Two painting "Willie Gillis Food Package from Home" fetched $2.8 million from a private buyer at an auction in Chicago on Saturday, the auction house said.
The winning bid for the iconic artwork was less than the up to $5 million estimated ahead of the auction, said Emily Betts Susanin, director of marketing and communications for Susanin's Auctions in Chicago.
But it was "great news" nonetheless, she said, adding that no other painting had ever fetched more at a Chicago auction.
Renowned American artist Rockwell did a series of Willie Gillis paintings for the cover of the Saturday Evening Post magazine, starting with the "Package from Home" on October 4, 1941, and continuing through "Willie Gillis in College" on October 5, 1946.
As America entered World War Two, Rockwell introduced Willie Gillis, a fictional character, as an enlisted man surrounded by fellow servicemen, receiving a food package from home. Rockwell was most known for his cover illustrations of everyday life he created for the Post over 47 years.

The "Twilight" finale and "Skyfall" continued to dominate the box office on a typically slow post-Thanksgiving weekend that brought big business for holdover films but a poor start for Brad Pitt's new crime story.
Sunday studio estimates put "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" out front for the third-straight weekend with $17.4 million domestically.
Pitt's "Killing Them Softly," the weekend's top new release, tanked with just $7 million domestically, coming in at No. 7 behind a big batch of holdovers.
Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Hollywood.com. Where available, latest international numbers are also included. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.
