I'll leave you with this: Quinnipiac asked 1,078 Americans "What is the first word that comes to mind when you think of President Trump?" The clear winner: Idiot (followed by Incompetent and Liar). Yeah, that's about right.
Daniel Dockery: How Pop Culture Literally Saved My Life (Cracked)
Pop culture is everywhere. It's the music we listen to, the books we read, and the fictional characters we print on our body pillows. And I'm deeply fascinated by it, which led to my current career in which I attempt to shout over the whirlpool of the internet about why my opinions about Superman are the best ones. I also kind of owe everything to pop culture - not just because it pays my rent, but also because it saved my life at two points.
Simon Bower: 6 TV Shows You Won't Believe Saved People's Lives (Cracked)
Think about the biggest way television has enriched your life. Got it? Even if you came up with something like "raised me" or "first glimpse of titties," the people in this article have you beat. Their answer to that prompt would be "saved it." Here are six silly shows that have somehow prevented someone from having an untimely tango with the Grim Reaper.
Nat Berman: Cute Artwork Shows Kids With Their Superhero Shadows (TV Over Mind)
His initial series "Super Shadows," which showed children shadowed by superheroes in a similar pose, garnered such a positive response that Ratliff created a second series, plus a "Trinity" edition of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Ratliff, an Indiana-based art director by day and artist by night, has made something special.
Nat Berman: Danish Artist Hide Giants That He Makes From Wood In The Wilderness (TV Over Mind)
"The sculptures are found in some of my favorite places around the city [Copenhagen], places where people don't go to often, because it's off the beaten track. The sculptures can only be found by using a treasure map, or a poem engraved into a stone near each sculpture. These give hints on how to find the different giants." - Thomas Danbo

Losses Improve From Horrible To Bad
Honeybees
There's a glimmer of hope for America's ailing honeybees as winter losses were the lowest in more than a decade, according to a U.S. survey of beekeepers released Thursday.
Beekeepers lost 21 percent of their colonies over last winter, the annual Bee Informed Partnership survey found. That's the lowest winter loss level since the survey started in 2006 and an improvement from nearly 27 percent the winter before.
The U.S. government has set a goal of keeping losses under 15 percent in the winter.
"It's good news in that the numbers are down, but it's certainly not a good picture," said survey director Dennis vanEngelsdorp. "It's gone from horrible to bad."
Reduction in varroa mites, a lethal parasite, is likely the main cause of the improvement, said vanEnglesdorp, a University of Maryland entomologist. He credited the reduction in the parasite to a new product to fight the mite and better weather for pesticide use.

Goes On Holiday
Hannity
Fox News plans to keep their most popular personalities, Sean Hannity (R-Echo Chamber), despite losing advertisers over his coverage of a debunked right-wing murder conspiracy. At least seven firms have pulled their commercials from Hannity's prime time programme.
The backlash comes after he promoted a right-wing theory that Democratic National Committee staffer, Seth Rich, was killed for providing DNC emails to WikiLeaks. Washington DC police suspect Rich was actually shot during a botched robbery.
Cars.com, mattress companies Leesa Sleep and Casper, United Services Automobile Association (USAA), Peloton bicycles, the Crowne Plaza hotel chain and doorbell company Ring have all asked to cancel their adverts from the show, The Los Angeles Times reported.
The backlash has continued despite Hannity's promise to stop speaking about the conspiracy theory on-air. Hannity announced that he would no longer speak about Rich's unsolved murder after the victim's parents asked him to stop.
"I did it out of my own heart," Hannity said. "Nobody tells me what to say on my show."

Test Rocket
New Zealand
California-based company Rocket Lab said Thursday it had launched a test rocket into space from its New Zealand launch pad, although the rocket didn't reach orbit as hoped.
The company said its Electron rocket lifted off at 4:20 p.m. Thursday and reached space three minutes later.
"It was a fantastic flight and we are really, really happy with the performance of the vehicle," said company founder Peter Beck.
Beck, a New Zealander, said the early stages of the mission went to plan, right up to the final separation.
He said his team would be working through terabytes of data over the coming weeks to find out why the rocket didn't reach orbit. He said a second test rocket has been built but it would take the team at least a couple of months before they were ready to launch it.

Cyclones, Ammonia River
Jupiter
Jupiter's atmosphere features colossal cyclones and rivers of ammonia welling up from deep inside the solar system's largest planet, researchers said on Thursday, publishing the first insights from a NASA spacecraft flying around the gas giant.
The cyclones were discovered as the Juno spacecraft made the first of at least 12 planned close encounters with Jupiter, which scientists believe set the stage for the development of Earth and other planets in the solar system.
Juno found cyclones as big as 870 miles (1,400 km) in diameter swirling over Jupiter's north and south poles, the research published in this week's issue of the journal Science shows.
The spacecraft also detected an ammonia belt extending from the top of the atmosphere to hundreds of miles into Juno's interior, as far down as Juno's instruments can see. Outside the band, Juno found other features in the atmosphere, rather than the expected homogeneous mix of gas.

Not Allowed To Meet Pope
Spicey
The Trumps and some White House officials met with Pope Francis on Wednesday, but one figure was notably missing: Sean Spicer. And apparently, he's pretty upset about it.
A source close to the White House told CNN that Spicer not being brought along to the meeting was "a slight," and that to meet Papa Francesco was "all he wanted."
Though he did manage to bring along Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, in addition to Jared and Ivanka.
In a shocking turn of events, people really felt for Spicey! If the man wants to meet the pope, just let him!
Of course, it was pretty in character for Trump to block him in the first place.

Contempt Charges Considered
David Daleiden
A federal judge said Thursday he will consider holding the leader of an anti-abortion group in contempt after links to videos that the judge had barred from release appeared on the website of the man's attorneys.
U.S. District Judge William Orrick ordered David Daleiden and his attorneys, Steve Cooley and Brentford J. Ferreira, to appear at a June 14 hearing to consider contempt sanctions.
Daleiden is a leader of the Center for Medical Progress, which has released several secretly recorded videos that it says show Planned Parenthood employees selling fetal tissue for profit, which is illegal. Planned Parenthood said the videos were deceptively edited to support false claims.
The videos stoked the American abortion debate when they were released in 2015 and increased Congressional heat against Planned Parenthood that has yet to subside.
Orrick issued a preliminary injunction that blocked the release of videos made by the Center for Medical Progress at meetings of the National Abortion Federation, an association of abortion providers. He also blocked the release of any names of NAF members.

Warrant Issued
Bikram Choudhury
A California judge on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant for the founder of Bikram yoga, who's been ordered to hand over proceeds from his global fitness business to satisfy a $6.8 million judgment won by a former legal adviser.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Edward Moreton issued the warrant for Bikram Choudhury and set bail at $8 million.
No lawyers appeared for Choudhury, who claimed last year he was nearly bankrupt.
The award was won by Minakshi "Micki" Jafa-Bodden, who claimed Choudhury fired her when she refused to help him cover up a rape allegation.
Jafa-Bodden worked as head of legal and international affairs at Choudhury's Los Angeles yoga school from spring 2011 until March 2013, when she said she was abruptly fired from her six-figure position.

US Deaths Soar 55 Percent Since 1999
Alzheimer's
Deaths from Alzheimer's in America have soared 55 percent since 1999, as the burden of this fatal form of dementia grows and the population ages, a federal health report said Thursday.
The study in the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report spanned 1999 to 2014.
Experts say the data shows more caregivers are needed, along with more resources to help people suffering from Alzheimer's disease, the sixth leading cause of death in the United States.
"As the number of older Americans with Alzheimer's disease rises, more family members are taking on the emotionally and physically challenging role of caregiver than ever before. These families need and deserve our support."
The study also found an increasing number of Alzheimer's deaths occurring at home, rising from 14 percent to 25 percent in the same period.
