Michael Jackson: Not Guilty
Well, Twinkle Toes did it again. This guy has slept with more than a twelve-pack of Boy Scout Troops and his pecker is still out there to fuck up other young men's lives.
I have to say some of the most repugnancy, equal to that of Mikey, were the news-whores who covered this sick mess. Nancy Grace and Diane Dimond were more guilty in perpetuating this kind of sensationalistic self-aggrandizing "infotainment of the daily court' type of entertainment than Michael is of pedophilia. Nancy, in her infinite wisdom, pulled a real boner by predicting before the verdict was read BY THE LOOK OF THE JURY, ole Mikey was guilty as hell. Then the "not guilty"s started rolling off the foreman's tongue and Nancy had to eat crow with those Bette Davis eyes and her no-nose face that is so sanctimonious it makes you almost cheer for the fuckin' pedophile.
The D.A. has wasted enough money on Michael now. This is the second time around, but they settled the first one. Why doesn't the D.A. go after the parents of the children who allow their kids to go spend the night at Neverland? It seems if you have a minor child, and place it in a location with a reputation of possible pedophilia, is that not some form of neglect? It seems that the mother, who by consensus has tried this shit with other celebrities, or at least tried to get in the circle of Leno, Chris Tucker and other celebrities (who blew her off immediately), should be prosecuted for the millions of dollars she cost the taxpayers to go after this guy who virtually is untouchable.
When a fellow owns the entire collection of the Beatles catalogue, Mommy shouldn't get on the witness stand and point her finger at said jury and virtually lecture them on pedophilia, preceded by her sullen and withdrawn son who hardly impressed the least of the cynics in the jury box. What the hell were the prosecutors thinking dragging this family into court when they knew the star witness ( the son) was a sullen punk.
What the jurors came up with was a verdict that was commensurate with the evidence. The prosecutors blew it, plain and simple. Any man in his forties who sleeps with boys is a pedophile. I don't care if he waits till they fall asleep before he yanks his pud while dreaming about MacCauley Caulkin's rear end, he's still a sick man.
So what we have now is a cauldron of fans who can't believe their idol is a little boy's butt-fucker, and they think the verdict justifies the loony's behaviour. It doesn't. Nothing justifies pedophilia. Even some of the jurors thought he was a pedophile, but since this family has brought suit against three other families trying to "extort" money for other reasons, the jurors went with the evidence presented. Now, the D.A. should resign.
Large quantities of ineptitude comes out of that D.A.'s office. Marsha Clark as a lead trial prosecutor going up against the Juice? C'mon, for god's sake. When Johnny Cochran was designated lead defense, they should have had the most experienced trial lawyer in their office there to compete with Cochran, not Chris Darden for having a token black at the prosecutor's table. Those two were out of their league and net result was a murderer was set free to go look for killers on a golf course in Florida.
I don't think it was the D.A.'s performance in Mikey's case that blew it, they just had shitty witnesses. But again, the D.A.'s office shows ineptitude by bringing that family to trial. Jeez. Somebody who's in charge needs to get that ship in order. Verdict after verdict get blown. Time for some Assistant D.A.'s and a new D.A. to carefully pick and choose carefully their issues, not some career family going around Hollywood and trying to suck celebrities into a con game.
Well, let's see what the next Court TV extravaganza brings us, so we can watch Nancy's sanctimonious nose and Texas twang emanate from the telly, and we can watch Diane Dimond reflect the same concepts that Nancy's nose and the hole below her nose expound, and all the Court TV junkies can get back to the lower profile coverage of some shit like a teenager who had sex with a sheep.

White House Protects Lying Liar
Kenneth Tomlinson
The White House on Wednesday rejected Democratic calls to fire the head of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, who is accused by critics of trying to politicize public television and radio programming.
Asked about a letter from 16 Democratic senators seeking the ouster of corporation Chairman Kenneth Tomlinson, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said, "We continue to support him."
The letter said Tomlinson had brought a "political agenda" to his job. It accused him of "actively undermining," underfunding and trying to undo the mission of public broadcasting.
Tomlinson has faulted the television network PBS, which receives funds from the corporation, for "liberal advocacy journalism," and has sought to bring what he says is "balance" to federally funded public television and radio.

Academy Won't Honor Work
Stunt Coordinator
Oscar won't honor stunt work. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Wednesday that its Board of Governors voted to deny a request from a group of stunt performer's organizations to create a new Academy Award for "best stunt coordinator."
"At a time when the academy is trying to find ways to reduce the numbers of statuettes given out, and looks at categories with an eye more focused on reduction than addition, the board is simply not prepared to institute any new annual awards categories," academy President Frank Pierson said Wednesday.
The last time the Academy added a new category was in 2000 for best animated feature film.

No. 1 Movie Quote
Frankly, My Dear...
"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn," the rakish Butler's famous line from the 1939 classic "Gone With the Wind," as spoken by Clark Gable, was named the most memorable movie quote in a poll by the American Film Institute.
"I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse" from 1972's "The Godfather" was No. 2, and Marlon Brando, who spoke those words, also claimed No. 3 with his line from 1954's "On the Waterfront:" "You don't understand! I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I could've been somebody instead of a bum, which is what I am."
Judy Garland as Dorothy in 1939's "The Wizard of Oz" telling her little dog, "Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore," came in at No. 4. Completing the top five was Humphrey Bogart as nightclub owner Rick Blaine from 1942's "Casablanca" with: "Here's looking at you kid."

Rejects Video Deal
Screen Actors Guild
The Screen Actors Guild's bitter infighting claimed another victim Tuesday as members of the national executive committee voted to reject the recently negotiated video game contract against the wishes of members and the negotiating committee.
It is believed to be the first time in the union's 72-year history that board members have used the routine approval process to overrule the unanimous recommendations of a negotiating committee.
Further chaos was created because smaller union AFTRA (the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists), which co-negotiated the deal, accepted the new 3-1/2-year contract last week; the old agreement expired May 13. Insiders say AFTRA will be able to grab full jurisdiction of this burgeoning field when its new contract goes into effect July 1.

Letters to Be Auctioned
Hughes to Hepburn
Twenty-two telegrams that Howard Hughes sent to Katharine Hepburn during their brief romance in the late 1930s are going on the auction block.
The auction was to begin Wednesday evening and end Thursday. Included is a telegram that Hughes sent to Hepburn on Jan. 19, 1937 - the day he set a new air record, flying from Burbank, Calif., to Newark, N.J., in seven hours, 28 minutes and 25 seconds.
Other items on the auction block include a brown hat with the initials "HRH" that was expected to fetch at least $40,000.

Italian Town Salutes
Sophia Loren
Sophia Loren received the honorary citizenship of her hometown in southern Italy on Wednesday. The film legend broke into tears as she was feted in a ceremony by the local community.
Crowds of locals and photographers greeted Loren, 70, as she arrived for the ceremony in Pozzuoli, just outside Naples.
Loren grew up in the town, visiting its single theater regularly to catch Hollywood movies. During World War II Loren's family were forced to flee to nearby Naples, returning to Pozzuoli when the conflict finished.

Giant Ice Pop Melts, Floods Park
Snapple
An attempt to raise the world's largest ice pop in a city square ended with a scene straight out of a disaster film - but much stickier.
The 25-foot-tall, 17 1/2-ton treat of frozen Snapple juice melted faster than expected Tuesday, flooding Union Square in downtown Manhattan with kiwi-strawberry-flavored fluid that sent pedestrians scurrying for higher ground.
Snapple had been trying to promote a new line of frozen treats by setting a record for the world's largest ice pop, but called off the stunt before it was pulled fully upright by a construction crane. Officials said they were worried the thing would collapse in the 80-degree, first-day-of-summer heat.
The giant ice pop was supposed to have been able to withstand the heat for some time, and organizers weren't sure why it didn't. It had been made in Edison, N.J., and hauled to New York by freezer truck in the morning.

Rescue Beaten Ethiopian Girl
Lions
A 12-year-old girl who was abducted and beaten by men trying to force her into a marriage was found being guarded by three lions who apparently had chased off her captors, a policeman said Tuesday.
The girl, missing for a week, had been taken by seven men who wanted to force her to marry one of them, said Sgt. Wondimu Wedajo, speaking by telephone from the provincial capital of Bita Genet, about 350 miles southwest of Addis Ababa.
She was beaten repeatedly before she was found June 9 by police and relatives on the outskirts of Bita Genet, Wondimu said. She had been guarded by the lions for about half a day, he said.
"They stood guard until we found her and then they just left her like a gift and went back into the forest," Wondimu said.

A digital particle image of Rufous hummingbird hovering is seen in this undated handout. Hummingbirds hover by flapping their wings a bit like insects and a bit like other birds, and now a super-fast camera has made an image of the technique, scientists reported, June 22, 2005. Researchers used digital particle imaging velocimetry (DPIV), to study the aerodynamics of hummingbird hovering. DPIV couples a digital camera that uses a laser light source and a computer to track circulating microscopic oil droplets seeded in the air. The system allows scientists to follow the movement of individual particles when air is circulated by the bird's wings.

Grandfather Kills Leopard
Daniel M'Mburugu
A 73-year-old Kenyan grandfather reached into the mouth of an attacking leopard and tore out its tongue to kill it, authorities said Wednesday.
Peasant farmer Daniel M'Mburugu was tending to his potato and bean crops in a rural area near Mount Kenya when the leopard charged out of the long grass and leapt on him.
"It let out a blood-curdling snarl that made the birds stop chirping," he told the daily Standard newspaper of how the leopard came at him and knocked him over.
The leopard sank its teeth into the farmer's wrist and mauled him with its claws. "A voice, which must have come from God, whispered to me to drop the panga (machete) and thrust my hand in its wide open mouth. I obeyed," M'Mburugu said.
M'Mburugu was toasted as a hero in his village Kihato after the incident earlier this month. He was also given free hospital treatment by astonished local authorities.
