Re: Paula Zahn
Paula Zahn, the BFEE whore, was at it again Friday night.
I was in a local pizza shop waiting to pick up my dinner and the TV was tuned in
to CNN. Paula Zahn is a Bush Bitch, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
I think the one commercial that they had planned for her...the sound of a man's
zipper being heard, the spot that was pulled because of complaints....was very
appropriate for her.
She had two strategists on last night to discuss the debate...well, a Democratic
strategist and a delusional GOP butt-kisser who persisted in his opinion that
Bush won the debate. According to him, Bush repeated himself because "he knows
what he's talking about" and "the debate was supposed to be about issues, not
vocal tricks."
(Speaking proper English and not bumbling and stumbling over every word are
"vocal tricks"? Welcome to more of BushSpeak.)
I don't understand some people. They spoke to one "undecided" voter (riiiiiight)
- a middle aged white guy in an expensive suit. The debate, he said, made him
decide to vote for DUMBya.
HUH?
I live in a small working class town in South Jersey, not far from Philadelphia,
that is HEAVILY Democratic. The Greek gent who owns the pizza place said "Why
would ANYONE decide to vote for George Bush? George Bush is a fool! I speak
better English than George Bush."
One woman waiting for her order said to the TV screen - and the "suit" on it -
"Dumb ass!"
The young gal who works behind the counter said "How can anyone say Bush won
that debate? Are those people ALL on drugs?" (I LOVE to hear young adults talk
like that.)
Here's hoping he continues to whoop Bush's whiny ass - and John Edward tears
Dickhead Cheney a new one.

Purely Political
by Charles D. Hayes
" Before 9/11, I thought George W. Bush was an intellectually impoverished
individual, unfit for performing the duties of president. Now, I'm quite
certain of it. I wonder how anyone who watched the presidential debate on
September 30th could feel comfortable calling George W. Bush our
commander-in-chief. Someday, I suspect, a popular consensus will
characterize the year 2001 as a time when an uninformed man with a
bullhorn was mistaken for a world leader.
In general parlance, George W. Bush is incapable of uttering five
consecutive non-scripted sentences without sounding like a complete fool.
When he does venture into an unintended ad lib, he very often repeats the
key words used in the first sentence with an added emphasis. He seems to
think that if he says the word nation with a bigger N sound, it will make
his point more forcefully. Even strong Bush supporters with a few drinks
under their belt will admit they cringe when the man speaks. Indeed, the
number of absurdities spewing forth from the president because of his
inability to speak above a kindergarten level has reached multiple volume
book length. This explosion of inane articulation is so disturbing it's
seldom mentioned in the press-not, I suspect, because of some conspiracy
but because the subject is so embarrassing that to deal with it in depth
would reveal beyond doubt that the current president of the United States
is, in fact, incompetent. Of course, there are many inarticulate people
who are nevertheless capable in a wide array of professions. I can accept
something like "our children is learning" from my local Wal-Mart manager,
but not from the U.S. president. But let's put aside the Bushisms for a
moment and look at his demeanor and his actions instead of his words.

Purple Gene Reviews
'The Rapture'
Purple Genes' Review of the 1991 movie "The Rapture":
I saw this scary look in George Bushs' eyes last
Thursday night during the debates....it was that born
again - true believer look - that blank abyssmal
stare... It reminded me of a little known movie from
1991 called the "The Rapture" by first time director
Michael Tolkin and starring Mimi Rogers
(Tom Cruises' EX) and
David Duchovny (X files).
I will never forget
Sharon (Rogers) answering anonymous phones by day
("business or residence") and haunting hotel bars and
airport lounges at night with her "Fuck Buddy"
(Patrick Bauchau) and engaging in anonymous kinky sex
with whomever! (truly great tits - see "Full Body
Massage" for more).
Well Sharon starts hearing things - whispers and
dreams and then, through her co-workers, meets this
young black dude who "sees" the future.....Sharon gets
born again - Christian style....just like George Bush
after his drinking and snorting and Whoring days!
Jump ahead six years and Sharon is married to Randy
(Duchovny) and they have a little girl. Suddenly,
tragedy strikes and Randy is murdered. Sharon and her
daughter give up their home and move to the desert
where they will starve and wait for Armagedon. Sharon
has faith that Jesus will appear here and sweep her
and her daughter up to heaven.
Well the movie drags
painfully on (like the war in Iraq) waiting for a
conclusion!!!! And this movie gives a conclusion!!!!!
Not the kind of ending that todays Zealot, born again
fundamentalist christian rightwingers - including our
goddam president see as "The Rapture"...but a stark,
apocalyptic denouement!!!! Tolkin goes all the way and
it is a little disturbing (now and in 1991).
Purple Gene gives this movie 1 stiff dick UP for
Mimis' Tits and 1 limp dick DOWN for the ending. This
movie is a must see for anyone who wonders why George
Bush has that vacuous look in his Eyes!!!!

Thanks, Gene!

Friday Concerts
'Vote for Change'
Bruce Springsteen rocked concert-goers while trying to rock the vote Friday night, leading a band of top musicians in a rollicking show to help elect Democrat John Kerry to the White House.
Headlining the first in a monthlong set of "Vote for Change" concerts, the rock star known as "The Boss" told a sold-out arena: "We're here to fight for a government that is open, rational, forward-looking and humane.
The concerts mark the first time Springsteen delved into partisan politics, despite decades of writing about working class heroes, American dreams and social injustices.
Yet the show's stars, who included the band R.E.M and former lead singer of classic rock staple Creedence Clearwater Revival John Fogerty, spent no time bashing Republican resident Bush, briefly plugged Kerry as the candidate of choice and played a barrage of crowd-pleasing, sing-along anthems.
As Springsteen played Philadelphia, five other concerts starring such artists as Bonnie Raitt, the Dave Matthews Band, the Dixie Chicks and Pearl Jam played in other cities across Pennsylvania, one of the nation's so-called battleground states seen as possibly swinging to either Bush or Kerry.
The Vote for Change musicians plan about 40 benefit concerts in other battleground states, including Ohio, Florida and Missouri.

Conen, a seven-month-old koala, receives care from his keepers at San Diego Zoo October 1, 2004. Four times a day, the Zoo's animal care staff bottle feeds Conen after learning that his mother had stopped producing milk and could no longer provide the proper maternal care. Although he is being hand reared the koala, who weighs about 480 grams (17 ounces), will continue to remain with hi mother for the next two to three years. The San Diego Zoo is home to more than 30 koalas, the largest colony outside of Australia.
Stars in Off-Broadway Play
Desmond Tutu
Moving from the pulpit to the stage, Desmond Tutu is appearing off-Broadway in a drama blasting the Bush administration's handling of Guantanamo Bay detainees.
The retired South African prelate and Nobel laureate appeared Saturday night at a tiny theater in lower Manhattan, playing a judge in "Guantanamo: Honor Bound To Defend Freedom." The play portrays the plight of British detainees at the U.S. naval base in Cuba.
Tutu's engagement is limited to two performances; the second is on Sunday afternoon.
Weeks before the U.S. presidential election, Tutu is drawing attention to the treatment of hundreds of suspected terrorists being held by the United States. Last week, a Briton at Guantanamo said he was tortured and held in solitary confinement for almost two years by the American military - a fate also alleged by other detainees.

Chow Yun-Fat
Chow Yun-Fat says he can't stand the American way of life and has no plans to pursue U.S. permanent resident status.
"I can't stand talking English every day or the lifestyle there ... not to mention the food," the Hong Kong-born film star was quoted as saying in Friday's editions of Chinese-language newspaper The Sun. "I only go to America for work. When I finish work, I leave immediately. I won't stay one day longer."

Hellcat Compilation
Joe Strummer
Unreleased tracks by the late Joe Strummer, Rancid and others fill out the ranks of the latest "cheapo" compilation from the independent Hellcat Records label.
"Give 'Em the Boot IV" boasts 26 tracks, nine of which are previously unissued.
Strummer is represented by a live version of "Junco Partner" recorded with his band the Mescaleros at London's Brixton Academy. Strummer originally covered the classic track with the Clash on the band's landmark 1980 set "Sandinista!" (Epic).
Rancid adds "Killing Zone" to the set, while other unreleased cuts come from Dropkick Murphys (Woody Guthrie's "I'm Shipping Up to Boston"), the Slackers ("Propaganda"), F-Minus ("Caught in Between"), Die Hunns ("Marshall Law") and the Unseen ("Waste of Time"). Nekromantix's cover of Rancid's "Dead Bodies" and a remix of the Transplants' "Romper Stomper" round out the previously unheard gems on "Give 'Em the Boot IV."

Charlie Watts
Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts has won a battle with throat cancer, lead singer Mick Jagger was quoted as telling a newspaper Saturday.
Watts, 63, was diagnosed with cancer four months ago and recently finished a successful six-week chemotherapy treatment at the Royal Marsden Hospital near his home in London's Chelsea district.
"Charlie has had all his treatments and he's now been cleared and is free of any illness," Jagger told the Daily Mirror.

Addresses Her Past in New Bio
Amy Fisher
Sitting in her editor's office at the Long Island newspaper where she writes a weekly column, Amy Fisher is not the cartoon character portrayed in tabloid headlines and made-for-TV movies more than a decade ago.
While her 3-year-old plays in a nearby room, this 30-year-old married woman - five months pregnant - speaks openly and contritely about her notorious past, which includes a seven-year prison term for shooting the wife of a man with whom she had a sexual relationship as a 16-year-old. The one-time "Long Island Lolita," who left prison in 1999 hoping never again to be in the public spotlight, has re-emerged, hoping whatever infamy she attained can be turned positive, as a warning for others who may find themselves headed for trouble. Her biography, "If I Knew Then...," published by IUniverse, came out in bookstores this week.
Fisher speaks candidly in the book about her teenage tryst with car mechanic Joey Buttafuoco and the events that led her to his wife's doorstep in May 1992, where she shot the woman in the head, thinking it was what he wanted.
Nevertheless, she repeatedly says in the book, "I take 100 percent responsibility for what I did to Mary Jo."

Break Out in Song
Prisoners
Ten Kenyan prisoners broke out of a police cell by singing hymns and chanting prayers to drown the sound of their escape, a newspaper reported Friday.
The Daily Nation said the singing prisoners sawed through the iron bars of the cell window before scrambling to freedom in Machakos, a town south of Kenyan capital Nairobi.
"These people really disturbed us as they tried to preach the gospel," the newspaper quoted one inmate as saying.

Koalas
Lusty Koalas in southern Australia will be put on the pill to stop them breeding too quickly and putting too much strain on their eucalyptus-forest home.
Up to 2,000 female koalas in Victoria state's Mount Eccles National Park are going to be implanted with a slow-release hormone that acts as a contraceptive.
"It is the same type of contraceptive that is used by human females around the world," said project manager Ian Walker. "But the tricky part about this programme is catching the koalas and getting them out of the trees."
Trials have shown the hormone implants, an alternative to relocation or surgical sterilisation, have prevented conception for six years.
