Movie Review by Tally Briggs

Session 9

Tally Briggs

I just saw this.

See it. It takes place in the abandoned Danvers Mental Hospital outside Boston.
The building is an ominous gothic brick thing built around 1880, and the story
revolves around a small group of guys hired to remove the asbestos ceiling panels
before the building gets renovated....

Excerpt from LATIMES review:

"There are huge rooms undergoing the cleanup process, long hallways and spooky
subterranean tunnels, most in varying stages of decay. Scattered rooms are still
fitted with devices for more extreme forms of therapy, and even some office
equipment and file cabinets and boxes containing records on inmates were left
behind.

The building is suffused with an aura of human suffering, of tormented
individuals whose personal histories have been discarded.

Amid this debris, Mike stumbles upon a set of audiotapes containing
sessions in which a therapist is subjecting a patient with multiple personalities
and an apparent victim of sexual abuse to a relentless "recovered memory"
treatment. (These sessions are based on material actually discovered by
the filmmakers at Danvers.) OH MY GAWD!

As the fascinated Mike sneaks away more often to listen to these creepy
tapes, the viewer naturally begins to wonder whether these sessions have any
connection to a member of Gordon's crew, each of whose behavior increasingly
exhibits clues that something is dreadfully awry.

This was a tense, very creepy, scary movie. For more... see the LATimes

Governor Jesse & UFO's

jesse ventura
"You look at the vast array of stars up there and we're to believe we're the only
life?" Gov. Jesse Ventura said Friday. "I don't think so. ... There's got to be
somebody else out there."

The comments came in reaction to a question from an audience member during
Ventura's live weekly radio show, broadcast from the Minnesota Zoo.

Ventura said the federal government should disclose whatever it knows about
aliens or unidentified flying objects to the public.

"That's called national security," he said. "People in government think you can't handle it and you need to be protected from it."

"Personally, I've never seen a UFO. I can't say that I have," Ventura said. "But
do they exist? Who knows?"

Where's Jenna?

From 'Star' & 'National Enquirer'

This week, both 'Star' and 'National Enquirer' have stories about Jenna, but,
oddly (?) neither tab is advertising their Jenna story on the front cover...

In 'Star' it's a 2-page spread (pages 6 & 7), with 4 pictures, and a story of
Jenna's newest beau, the grandson of ex-20th Century Fox boss Marvin Davis.

The 'National Enquirer' has only 1 page (page 29), but, it's titled 'It's
Another Wild Party Week For Jenna', and has 3 pictures...one has the dear girl
holding what appears to be an 'adult beverage', and another of a seemingly
well-hung-over Jenna.

She is still 19, and the legal drinking age in CA is still 21. Using her
father's time-scale, she can screw up and off for at least another 20 years, and
call it a 'youthful indiscretion'.

Rules are for the rest of us, and do not apply to the Bush family.

Maureen Reagan's funeral is today, in Sacramento, where she lived with husband, Dennis Revell, and their daughter. The Blended Family Patti Davis, Nancy, Ron, Mike, Maureen & young Ron (from left)
Having family 'behind the Orange Curtain' (Orange County, CA), can make for some interesting gatherings. That's how I met Maureen Reagan years ago. She had no problem expressing her views, and didn't toe the 'party' line completely. She was also charming, gracious, and kind. RR & JP2
Her dedication to Alzheimer's research was more than admirable. On a note most women will understand...can you imagine how many times she was told 'but, you have such a pretty face'? Maureen was quite a remarkable woman. Here's a wonderful tribute to Maureen from her sister Patti Maureen, by Patti. ~~Marty
