In The Chaos Household
Sunday Night's TV
Started out surfing between '60 Minutes', on CBS, and 'Dateline NBC' on
NBC (office of redundancy redundancy). The rerun of 'The X-Files' was more to
my liking than 'Alias' tonight. After that, I turned off the sound, and listened to
radio online.
Tonight, Faux has 2 season premiere's - 'Boston Public' (with Jeri '7 of Nine' Ryan), and
'Ally McBeal'.
MNF is the Tennessee Titans vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. NBC is offering
another spin on celebrity guests on 'Weakest Link', with the proceeds to charity. At least RuPaul will be there
for comic relief.

The Agassi Family
'Jaden Gil'
Steffi Graf gave birth to a healthy son three weeks early, and father Andre Agassi
attended the birth.
The baby, Jaden Gil, was born at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas on Friday and weighed
5 pounds, 7 ounces, Graf's marketing firm said Saturday.
Mother and son were doing well and were able to leave the hospital the day after the
birth, the statement said.
Graf and Agassi married in a private ceremony Monday. They had previously announced
their son was expected in early December. It is the first child for both.
Agassi, 31, and Graf, 32, began dating after each won the French Open in 1999. Graf, a
seven-time Wimbledon champion, retired in 1999.
Agassi was previously married to actress Brooke Shields. It is Graf's first marriage.
The couple recently bought a $23 million home in the San Francisco Bay area. They announced
in July they were expecting a baby.

Jackson & Travolta Together, Again
'Basic'
John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson are teaming for another movie, but they won't
reprise their ``Royale with cheese'' discussion.
The ``Pulp Fiction'' alumni, who haven't worked together since the 1995 Quentin
Tarantino-directed juggernaut, will star in a new military suspense thriller.
The movie, ``Basic,'' was announced Thursday in Jacksonville, Fla., where the film
is being shot.
Filming starts Nov. 26 and will continue for 12 weeks at a former Navy air station.
Production will wrap up in early March.
Travolta will play a Drug Enforcement Administration agent who comes to an Army basic
training camp to investigate the disappearance of an Army Ranger instructor played by Jackson.

Arthur C. Clarke Tribute Next Month
At The Playboy Mansion
Science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke will be met by real-live spacemen at a
gala next month in his honor.
Astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Jim Lovell are set to attend the Nov. 15 event honoring
Clarke, who co-wrote the screenplay for ``2001: A Space Odyssey'' with Stanley Kubrick.
Actor Tom Hanks and ``Titanic'' director James Cameron will co-chair the event. Clarke
is set to join the festivities via satellite from Sri Lanka, where he lives.
The grounds of Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion will be transformed with the monolith
from the 1968 movie, along with telescopes and actors dressed as the pre-hominid
ancestors of mankind.
Apollo 11 astronaut Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon, has collaborated with
Clarke before. Clarke wrote an epilogue for Aldrin's ``First On The Moon'' in 1969,
and a foreword for ``Encounter With Tiber'' in 1996.

Concert At The Ramona Bowl
Snoop Dogg
``Tha Doggfather'' is heading to a desert town more commonly known for shuffleboard and
retirement communities than its love of rap music.
Rapper Snoop Dogg is scheduled to perform Nov. 11 at the Ramona Bowl in Hemet, about 90
miles southeast of Los Angeles.
The concert is billed as a benefit, with a portion of the profits going to the Red Cross
fund to help victims of the terrorist attacks.
Promoters at Los Angeles-based Zen Wizard Productions said they picked the venue because it
was available and within driving distance of cities such as Palm Springs, Los Angeles and San Diego.
Snoop Dogg has had mixed luck with such out-of-the-way venues. A concert planned last Sunday
in Mississippi was canceled because of poor ticket sales.
The 6,900 tickets available for the Hemet show are selling ``rather decently,'' according
to Michael Garcia of Ticketmaster.

Tailgate Beer-Party
Kid Rock
Kid Rock's rowdy beer party in his hometown was caught on camera - and that was the idea.
Thousands braved the chill at the Michigan State Fairgrounds on Saturday for Kid Rock's
tailgate party and free concert, which doubled as the backdrop for the rap-rock bad
boy's latest video.
While filming the video for his single ``Forever,'' Rock treated the crowd to a free
concert that included a rendition of ``Sweet Home Alabama.'' Actress-model Pamela
Anderson, who is to appear in the video, also was on hand.
Fans were encouraged to bring coolers of food and beverages and dress in red, white and
blue, and they were equal to the task. During filming, they drank beer and tossed cans
on the stage to play up the party atmosphere for the camera.
The video for ``Forever'' is scheduled to air on MTV starting Nov. 5. Rock's new album
``Cocky'' goes on sale Nov. 20.

In Memory
Eugene 'Pineapple' Jackson
Eugene "Pineapple" Jackson, who starred in several "Our Gang" comedies in the 1920s,
died of a heart attack Friday. He was 84.
Jackson's character, "Pineapple," appeared in six "Our Gang" films: "The Mysterious
Mystery," "The Big Town," "Circus Fever," "Dog Days," "The Love Bug" and "Shootin' Injuns."
Jackson broke into show business in 1923 doing the shimmy for a bag of groceries at
a downtown Los Angeles theater.
When he was 6, Jackson was introduced to Hal Roach, the man behind the classic "Our
Gang" shorts. Roach took one look at the boy's Afro frizz, dubbed him "Pineapple,"
and signed him to a two-year contract.
After his contract ended in 1926, Jackson went to work for Mack Sennett as the only black
child in the Buster Brown comedies, and also was in Mary Pickford's silent feature
film "Little Annie Rooney."
Jackson experienced early Hollywood's typecasting and pay differentials for minorities.
For "Our Gang," he earned a maximum of $55 a week compared with the white children's
$75, he told the Los Angeles Times in 1992.
"Black kids had to look the part," he said. "They would put stuff on my hair to make
it look kinkier."
Entering adolescence, Jackson sang and danced on the vaudeville circuit, billed as
"Hollywood's most famous colored kid star." He was often cast in uncredited bit parts
in films over the years, selling watermelon, shining shoes, lugging suitcases or
cleaning up after horses.
In the 1960s and '70s, Jackson found himself on several pioneering black television shows.
He was Diahann Carroll's Uncle Lou on "Julia," and played Redd Foxx's friend on occasional
episodes of "Sanford and Son."
Jackson taught dance at studios he established in Compton and Pasadena in his later years,
and published his autobiography, "Eugene Pineapple Jackson: His Own Story," in 1998.
His work was featured in a dance retrospective prepared for the 1993 Los Angeles Festival,
an offshoot of the 1984 Olympic Arts Festival.
