In The Chaos Household
Last Night
Mostly had Faux on in the background...ended up giving a lesson in basic windows....jeez, just shows you how desperate some people
can be.
Didn't watch 'Alias' because I liked George Lazenby better as James Bond than Roger Moore, but that's just me.
Tonight, Monday, the CBS 2 hour block o'sitcoms ('King of Queens', 'Yes, Dear', 'Raymond', 'Becker') are all
reruns. They are followed by a fresh 'Amazing Race 2'. Dave is back from vacation.
NBC has a fresh 90-minute 'Fear Factor', followed by the debut of 'The Colin Quinn', and then an hour-long
'Saturday Night Live Remembers John Belushi'.
ABC starts the night with a rerun of 'My Wife & Kids', then goes to a fresh 'Wayne Brady Show',
and the 'The Chair' is listed, but, its been seen to the back of the TV refrigerator, so expect something else to be substituted.
The evening wraps up with a fresh 'Once & Again'.
The WB it's a rerun '7th Heaven' and a fresh 'Glory Days'.
Faux is fresh with 'Boston Public' and 'The American Embassy'.
UPN is wall-to-wall reruns with 'The Hughleys', 'One On One', 'The Parkers' and 'Girlfriends'.
TCM does biographies with 'The Miracle Worker', 'Elephant Man', 'The Glenn Miller Story', 'The Buddy Holly
Story', 'Ed Wood', and then 'Bound For Glory'.

'A Rocker, Not A Rapper'
Wynton Marsalis
Trumpeter Wynton Marsalis says he's a rocker, but not a rapper.
Marsalis, in town for a performance at Ohio State University, told students at suburban Westerville South High School that rap music
was a modern-day "minstrel show."
As for rock music, "I'm more or less a die-hard swinger. I believe in it," he said.
Between jokes, storytelling and questions, Marsalis prodded students to pull out their trumpets and had one to sit at the piano and
play along. He goaded a teacher into a trumpet duel.
Marsalis has been trying for nearly a decade to make schools include jazz music education in their curriculums.
"Jazz is an important part of the American identity, the American mythology, and it can help teach us about who we were and who we are," he told students.

Letterman's Words Come Back to Haunt on CNN
Larry King Rerun
Will David Letterman jump to ABC? Not if the Dave of five years ago has anything to say about it.
CNN Saturday repeated a May 1996 edition of "Larry King Live" in which King asked Letterman whether he'd ever jump networks again, repeating his 1993 leap from NBC to CBS.
"No," Letterman emphatically told King. "I will do this show on CBS for as long as I want to, and for as long as the network wants me to, and as long as
the vast North American viewing public will stand for it."
The gap-toothed comic also said that whenever he did sign off CBS, he'd likely do so by noting he would "never be able to repay my gratitude to (CBS)." As
for ABC, Letterman took a swipe at his could-be future home, mocking an episode of "Good Morning America" broadcast from a Disney Store.
Meanwhile, Comedy Central's Jon Stewart -- frequently mentioned as a potential Letterman replacement or an ABC plan B -- poked fun at the whole
latenight controversy during his opening monologue as host of this weekend's "Saturday Night Live."
"I just want to clarify about those rumors: Yes, I would -- I would do anything: I would do Dave, Leno, Conan, anybody who wants to leave,"
he quipped. "Willard Scott -- you tired of waving at old people? I'll take that. I work on basic cable. Do you understand what I'm saying?"

Whats wrong with this picture?
1 Movie, 2 Channels
''A Season on the Brink''
Who says television isn't innovative? Tonight ESPN is interrupting its format of sports events and sports talk to offer — ta-daaa — a
sports movie. The network has been knocking itself out to promote its first dramatic film, "A Season on the Brink," starring Brian Dennehy as
Bobby Knight, the notoriously volatile and profane college basketball coach.
It isn't much of a movie, but if the viewers tune in, other niche cable channels could follow. Imagine the Food Network producing a remake
of "Wild Strawberries" or "The Fortune Cookie." How about a musical? CNN presents Joel Grey as "George W.!" ("A real, live scion of my Daddy
George, born on the Fourth of July.")
More innovation: "Brink" is being shown on two channels simultaneously. On ESPN, Mr. Dennehy spews barrages of Knightian foul language. But for
viewers with tender sensibilities (if there are any left), ESPN2 will run the movie with the naughty words bleeped out. Having previewed the
full-cuss version, I can only conclude that the alternative soundtrack must sound like a ewe singing an aria. (The scene in which the coach
explains his devotion to a certain monosyllable will be especially bleepful.)

Have The Marriage License
Liza & David
Liza Minnelli and hubby-to-be David Gest applied for their marriage license yesterday, but were already acting like newlyweds.
Smiling from ear to ear, the starry-eyed couple got the royal treatment at the Municipal Building near City Hall - escorted by
three security officers past long lines and crowds as they were ushered into a VIP room to obtain their certificate privately.
State law requires the couple to apply in person. The $30 certificate is valid for 60 days.
Minnelli and her movie producer fiancé are set to tie the knot on March 16 at the Marble Collegiate Church on Fifth Avenue.
It will be Minnelli's fourth marriage, but the wedding is expected to be a traditional affair.
Afterward, Minnelli is scheduled to kick off a major tour, beginning at London's Royal Albert Hall April 2 to 7. She'll then
make appearances in Denmark, France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Honorary Doctorate
Loretta Lynn
Add an honorary doctorate to the accolades for the Coal Miner's Daughter.
Loretta Lynn, whose country music reflected her eastern Kentucky childhood, was awarded an honorary doctor of arts degree Saturday from
the University of Kentucky.
Lynn, 66, didn't attend the ceremony because of an illness. Her brother accepted the award for her.
Lynn was born in rural Johnson County. Her rise to fame was chronicled in the 1980 film, "Coal Miner's Daughter."
Lynn's career includes 53 top-10 country music singles and 16 No. 1 country albums. Her latest album is "Still Country."

She's Got Twins
Taylor Dayne
Former teen singer Taylor Dayne has joined the Hollywood mommy brigade. Dayne, who is in her late thirties, hired a surrogate mother
last year. The surrogate gave birth to Dayne's twins, a boy and a girl named Levi and Estaria, in late December. "They are all living
in Los Angeles now and Taylor is shopping a comeback album to record companies," said a Dayne pal. "She's getting older and wanted to
have kids and let's face it - there wasn't anyone around."

Writers Guild Foundation's Third ''Words Into Pictures'' Conference
7 - 9 June
Seven Academy Award-winning scribes, including Ron Bass ("Rain Man") and Steven Zaillian ("Schindler's List") are among the participants confirmed
for the Writers Guild Foundation's third "Words Into Pictures" conference in June.
The other Oscar-winners on board are James L. Brooks ("Terms of Endearment"), Steven Gaghan ("Traffic"), Callie Khourie ("Thelma and Louise"), Eric
Roth ("Forrest Gump") and Robert Towne ("Chinatown").
The event, dubbed the largest collection of creative talent outside of awards season, is designed to focus on the writer's role in the filmmaking
process. It will take place June 7-9 at the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City.
Other participants include J.J. Abrams ("Alias"), Paul Attanasio ("Donnie Brasco"), Charlie Kaufman ("Being John Malkovich"), Don Roos ("The Opposite
of Sex"), Aaron Sorkin ("The West Wing"), Larry Wilmore ("The Bernie Mac Show") and Anthony Zuiker ("CSI: Crime Scene Investigation").
The first "Words Into Pictures" confab was held in 1997, followed by the 1999 event, which drew 1,200 participants to the Loews Santa Monica Beach
Hotel. The event was moved to a larger facility this year because of an expected increase in demand.

'' And we've got a job to do at home, as well. You know, I was campaigning in Chicago and somebody asked me, is there ever any time where the budget might have to go into deficit? I said only if we were at war or had a national emergency or were in recession. (Laughter.) Little did I realize we'd get the trifecta. (Laughter.) But we're fine. ''
